Career Summary: Born and raised in a typical expat family I lived and went to schools in different countries in Asia. I completed my studies in Paris at the American University of Paris. My First assignment as junior consultant, in October 1982, was with an American Business Consulting Group; Impac Management Consultants. I was contracted on a full time basis until the beginning of 1986. During this period I was involved with phase 1 – analyses and phase 2 implementation projects in most European countries. When I left Impac in 1986 I held the position of Unit Vice President; responsible for operations in Belgium and Holland and was responsible for supporting, coaching and managing 2 to 3 managers of change programs. In 1985, prior to leaving Impac, I was approached by the Executive Board of Directors of a Dutch Holding Company (The Mountain Company) which owned various service and trade companies. Their interest was to start a Dutch based results driven Consulting Firm. With a limited budget and an agreed time span of 6 months I set up M.I.T. Consultancy B.V. and developed the first consulting assignments. Subsequently . M.I.T. developed into a medium sized consulting firm employing 18 junior and senior consultants, mainly working for major corporations (Rank Xerox, Shell, ministry of economic affairs, DAF Trucks). I left in 1990 because I was not able to obtain ownership of the company. In June 1990 I was contracted on a freelance basis by I.M.R. in the position of Operations Executive with full responsibility over projects in mainland Europe. My main operational responsibility was to convert phase-1, analyses into phase-2, projects. Clients included Kraft and General Food. I was involved in concurrent analyses throughout Europe including the U.K. . Together with an associate and colleague, I set up the European Management Institute in May 1991. We self-financed the start-up and commenced our first project within a few months. Unilever in the Netherlands became a very important client. Later Remu (acquired by Eneco) also in the Netherlands was a major account. Projects ran simultaneously. I was fully responsible for marketing and operations. In May 1994, through my contacts with Unilever (Food) I was invited by TNO to develop a Knowledge Exchange Concept. This resulted in setting up and becoming part shareholder of the Food Competence Centre bv. TNO’s Food Institute in Zeist became the host organization for this innovative Knowledge Exchange Centre for Food Safety. As agreed at the start up, I handed over “shares and controls” of The Food Competence Centre 2.5 years afterwards, in September 1996. In 1995, I set up Emet BV, a small Management Consulting firm together with a former colleague. Emet turned into a niche market Management Consultancy firm in the Netherlands. Clients include blue chip companies like Eneco, ANWB, Unilever, Imtec and Stork, but also smaller but well known companies such as Wientjes Kunststoffen and Inalfa (both automotive) and Free Record Shop. Later Emet has developed a strong position in various state owned organizations, decentralized governments (cities) and in the health care industry. In July 2010 I was invited in the board of Specialisterren Foundation, a part of a Social Enterprise that trains and employs people with Autisic Spectrum Disorder (ASD). We provide World Class Software Testing Services. Specialisterren was recently nominated for the Computable 2012 Awards. Earlier, the directors of Specialisterren bv received from HRH Princes Maxima “De Participatieprijs 2011”. My involvement at Specialisterren is ongoing, based on mutual commitment. I am currently working on a number of challenging assignments offering my services to established and often well known Consulting Companies. Furthermore I am involved in a number of power launches incubating and supporting innovative and promising new start ups. www.gegevens.info Last but not least, I am involved in various public interest projects aimed at the “inclusive society” ( www.workdesign.nl and “our social medium” http://workdesign.ning.com ).
