Level – Pre-Primary

Even though February is the shortest month of the year, we had lot of mixed

emotions going on! Many of our preschoolers will be off to next grade. It is with

great pride that we look back at the achievements of the children. The many

values that have been on display throughout the year such as usage of the magic

words; resilience while handling a particular problem whether it is in class or a

problem between friends; courage in coping with changes; compassion towards

all members of the school community; appreciation and happiness for each other

and all the opportunities they are given within the school, strengthen their

character and their ability to make the most of every aspect of school life and

have particularly come to the fore as we end the term.

Intra murals sports competition

Sports play a vital role in our life as it keeps us healthy both mentally and physically. We

can have a healthy mind only when we have a healthy body. Great achievements come our

way when we maintain our physical and mental well-being. The spirit of friendly

competition came alive during Intra mural Sports competition. The children participated

in a wide range of sports events, cheered on their teammates and learnt valuable lessons in

sportsmanship. Events chosen were fun, safe and easy to participate in successfully.

Graduation Day celebrations Talent and skills are the crops that are nurtured, groomed and given all possible

opportunities to grow and bloom. Graduation day is the celebration of the harvest of this

crop. It is a day full of joy, a day about pride and accomplishment, a day of celebration.

At Delhi Public School, teaching and learning is based on Multiple Intelligences and

experiential learning. Graduation day was organized on 29th February. Our Kindergarten

graduates showcased events based on the application of all the themes that they have

procured all along their pre-primary journey and received their prized degrees.

ACADEMICS: As planned for the month

BABY’S DAY OUT: 1st February 2020 The school organized numerous games, puppet show, magic show and movie time for the

entertainment of Class-1 students. Lots of lip-smacking food items for breakfast, lunch and

snacks were served. The event gave an experience to the tiny tots on how to share and care for

their friends. The day was fun-filled, exciting and concluded with children taking home a

memento, a custom-made T-shirt and a cap.

PARENT ORIENTATION PROGRAMME: 1st February 2020 An orientation programme for the parents of new joinees was conducted to showcase the

academic, co-curricular and extra curricular activities of the junior school. The systems and

processes of the school were laid forth by the Principal and included a demonstration of

subject-related activities by the students of Class-2. Parents were also familiarized with school’s

online portal Studease by our IT Manager.

LEAP YEAR ACTIVITY:

To celebrate the Leap day of the year i.e 29th February, students of Classes I & II made a tie by

marking the Leap years starting 2020 to 2032 with stars and wore it.

Intramurals

The DPS Intramural Sports program is designed to encourage students to participate in a positive

and structured sports activity during PET Periods at school. There was 100% participation of all

students of class III & IV in all the events. The physical education department proved their

mastery in assessing the various skills of the students

Opportunities and activities beyond the classroom form an important and exciting feature

for the students. The enrichment programme contributes enormously to the academic

support of the students during their revision time in school.

Bridging Audits

Teachers of classes 3 & 4 conducted bridging audits for class 2 to know the students subject

knowledge, communication skills and understanding of the concepts in all the subjects.

A student’s academic and all-round development is not just up to the school. The parents need

to be involved at every step so as to keep track of the progress their ward is making over the

academic year. While it may not be possible for them to do so every day, considering they

would be busy with their own professional lives, the school offers parent orientation program

to discuss various aspects of the student’s schooling.

The parent orientation program was held on February 6th for the academic session 2019-20 to

bring the parents to speed up their child’s progress as well as give them an idea of the various

teaching methodologies being employed at the school. So, the parents would be able to

implement the learning process at home as well, ensuring the student doesn’t lose continuity

in learning.

Student Led Conference for classes III, IV is a classroom academic exhibition wherein the

students showcase before their parents their learning outcomes and curricular and co-

curricular developments of the year.SLC is conducted along the lines of a Parent Teacher

Meeting wherein the parents visit only their child’s section and take pride in their learning

.The purpose of this conference (SLC) is to reflect on their child’s growth and learning this

year.

Events Student Led Conference The Student Led Conference is an initiative to showcase the students’ learning to the parents

in a form of their choice. Students express their knowledge and learning by themselves and

take responsibility to lead the entire conference. This gives them a sense of confidence, hones

their communication skills, improves their managerial abilities and provides a great platform

to reflect and share their learning outcomes with their parents.

Each student learns in a different manner, kinesthetic, visual or auditory. Through the SLC

students learned about their topic through thorough research. Some classrooms were

transformed into ‘Concept Rooms’ where the classroom focused on discovering concepts in

real life situations.

As part of peer learning exercise students who were chosen as Professor of the Day conducted

Revision classes for the Term II exams. Some of them were given opportunities to record their

Pre-Primary:

Coffee with HM:

A special assembly was conducted in the AV room of DPS Mahendra hills on 14.2.20 by

Nursery B. The story ‘The sky is falling’ was showcased with puppets. The purpose was to

improve the language skills of the tiny tots. They learn to construct sentences and find words

to describe the elements in their storytelling. The assembly started with prayer, music and

enacting the story using puppets. The programme ended with a beautiful dance by tiny tots.

Children had great fun as they enacted the story. It was a memorable one for those who

witnessed it.

PP Class party:

Class party was celebrated by Nursery and Prep on 25.2.20 in the AV room of DPS Mahendra

hills on the last day of exam of RP3. Children were excited to come in colour dress to celebrate

the party. AV Room was full of hustle and bustle and the chips of tiny tots. Children danced

on jazz numbers and enjoyed dancing along with their teachers. Children relished the snacks

followed by the talk by their teachers. Finally children thanked their teachers and bade

goodbye.

The Pre Primary wing of Delhi Public School, Mahendra Hills (Feeder School of DPS

Nacharam) reverberated with applause and pride as the grand Graduation Day celebration for

the batch of 2019 – 2020 was held on 28th February, 2020. Ms. Moiza Rafat, the founder of

Pebble Creek Montessori house of children, had been invited as our chief guest for the day.

Ms. Shweta Agarwal, a high court judge had graced the occasion as the guest of honour. The

program started with a welcome address by our dear tiny tots who spoke fluently and

confidently. It was followed by the lighting of the lamp in the presence of our esteemed

dignitaries Chairman Shri. M Komraiah, Principal Dr. Sunitha Rao, chief guest and guest of

honour, our Head Mistress Ms Neetu Gupta and PP Coordinator Ms Srabana Ghosh. Our dear

children sung the invocation song melodiously while the lamp was kindled. Our esteemed

dignitaries were presented with saplings as a mark of reverence. Then our tiny cherubs of class

Nursery performed a dance with a beautiful message of “Being strong” for their beloved

friends from Prep. Our Principal Ms. Sunitha Rao bestowed the little graduates with her

showers of blessings and inspiring words.

It was followed by the cake cutting ceremony .Next, the exuberant kids of Prep classes

showcased lovely dance performances, skits and presentations highlighting the significance

of good manners, following traffic rules and what they dream to be!!! Up next, the most

solemn and awaited event of the day, the presentation of graduation certificates to our tiny tots

of Prep who are ready to enter the portals of class 1, was ushered. Our dear children sang the

graduation song thanking everyone for all that they have done in their wonderful three years

that they had spent in Pre Primary. The parents, present as audience, were full of praise at the

wonderful performances. Rendering best wishes to their wards, they applauded the school for

grooming their children magnificently. All the children smartly wore the graduation dress and

walked forward confidently to be felicitated with certificates by our esteemed dignitaries. The

program was concluded with vote of thanks by our Head Mistress Ms. Neetu Gupta.It was a

proud moment to see our little DPSiites achieving yet another milestone and all set to take on

a new mantle.

Primary and Middle school

Hall of Fame Awards ceremony:

DPS Mahendra Hills organised a Hall of Fame ceremony to encourage and motivate the

extraordinary achievements of DPSites in the fields of sports and PVA. The programme

started with the lighting of lamp by the Principal and the early bird parent followed by a dance

performance .Later on Principal Mrs Sunitha Rao addressed the gathering followed by the

award ceremony .Darsh Malani the young Magician- winner of the Pradhan Manti Bal Shakti

Award 2020 was also felicitated by the principal. Children from various other fields like

skating, swimming, visual arts and academics were presented the trophies and scholarships

for their outstanding performance and proving their mettle.

The Orientation programme for the parents of new admission students (academic year 2020-

2021) of Delhi Public School-Mahendra Hills [feeder school of DPS-Nacharam] was held on

8th February 2020 in the school premises. As it is rightly said,"Success comes to those who

work hard and stays with those, who don’t rest on the laurels of the past." Imparting quality

education and an egalitarian approach is what we believe in at Delhi Public School-Mahendra

Hills[feeder school of DPS-Nacharam] . We began the proceedings with the traditional and

auspicious lighting of the lamp while the choir presented the prayer song. The school principal

Ms.Sunita Rao addressed the gathering and welcomed the parents to the portals of the school.

She also spoke about the endeavor of the school to direct the learners towards a positive

environment, and how learning-not just subject content but life lessons are imparted and

encouraged through a holistic approach at the institution. An ice-breaker activity was

conducted followed by the address given by the Headmistress –Ms Neetu Gupta Puri where-

in she presented an informative and thorough insight into the functioning and philosophy of

the school through a Power Point Presentation. The school counselor, Ms Safoora also spoke

on the occasion about how the students are constantly supported and made to feel at home in

the school with many mentor- mentee programmes. A general physician was also invited to

talk about the health concerns of the children and she stressed upon the fact that the school

conducts health check-up and fully provides support for the students who face any health issue.

Later, there was an open session held to answer the queries of the parents. The parents then

witnessed a magnificent and marvelous STEAM exhibition and SLC where-in students had

put up an array of displays to share their knowledge and learning experiences. The school has

constantly taken stride widening its horizon and providing the best of platforms to its learners

and has always been working at implementing a well -balanced curriculum to ensure that the

children who walk into the portals of our Schools will not just love their school years but truly

be prepared to face life’s challenges. Our special guests, the parents of new admission students

surely left the venue with a confidence that their wards were in best of hands where-in they

all be nurtured and molded to become the best.

The Annual Student Led Conference and STEAM exhibition aptly titled as ‘Curio City’ by

the students of grades 1 to 7 was held at Delhi Public School, Mahendra Hills on 8th February

2020 to celebrate the student’s creativity and to give them a speaking platform to showcase

their innate talent. The exhibition was held to promote and develop the intrinsic flair and

aptitude of the learners in their interest areas. The exhibition was inaugurated by our chief

guest Col Manoj with many other dignitaries who graced the occasion. Our school Principal

Ms. Sunitha Rao was also present to encourage, motivate and appreciate the beautiful and

innovative work displayed by the young learners. As rightly said, ‘Sometimes the littlest

voices have the biggest things to say.’ The young DPSiites with their teachers set up a system

of learning stations as varied as science and technology to arts and math to languages. Students

were encouraged to think critically about their own abilities and achievements, thus honing

and developing their skills.

Student’s creativity and their talents were portrayed through the medium of art, engineering,

models and sculpture. The exhibits, to name a few, reflected diverse themes like Vertical

Gardens, Food for Health, Animal World, Planets, Housing and Clothing and Seasons. The

language departments showcased Role Plays, Puppetry, Monologues, Performance Poetry,

Vocabulary Parade and plethora of activities. Young minds of the Middle School displayed

still models, working models, charts and posters to present their topics. Rooms depicting The

Space Station, Herbal Garden, Models of Land forms, Mathematical concepts like

Pythagorean rules, Golden pie ratio, and Robotics lab were interesting to visit. Each corridor

reflected deep and holistic learning that takes place in the portals of the school. Watching and

hearing their little ones speak, demonstrate and explain the learning that has occurred

throughout the year was one of the most inspiring and proud moment for the parents, who had

turned up in large number to witness STEAM and SLC. The Exhibition was a huge success.

Russian Skype Call:

Following last year’s initiative of interacting with students from all over the world, Delhi

Public School - Mahendra Hills organized a Skype session with Russian students on 13th

February. Students of Classes 5 to 7 were given an opportunity to interact and learn more

about Russia, their culture and the education system. The Skype session started with an

introduction by Ms. Irina Azarova, Principal of Roschinski State School who introduced her

students, teachers and school activities. The Russian students presented their National

Anthem, a mesmerizing Russian folk dance and celebration of New Year in Russia. Students

of DPS, Mahendra Hills showcased the rich culture and heritage of India through the 7

classical dance forms of India, Madhubani, Miniature, Tanjore and Pattachitra Paintings. Our

students also spoke about the great personalities of India and their achievements. A short skit

on Buddhacharita was also performed which showed the enlightenment of Buddha in Bodh

Gaya. It was an interactive session where students from both the schools asked questions

related to schooling, education system, subjects, departments and teachers. It was a well

conducted session, under the guidance of Head Mistress Ms. Neetu Gupta Puri who

encouraged the students during the Skype Session. The two schools not only exchanged

performances, presentations and words but also culture, values and education. They took a

new step towards a world with no boundaries, friendship and love for each other.

Haritha Haram:

Echoing the slogan ‘Let’s Go Green….For A Better Tomorrow’, The Harita Haram

programme was hosted in the school where-in various dignitaries were invited to grace the

occasion. Right from the inception of Haritha Haram, the school has taken active participation

in it, DPS-MH and NH are leaving no stones unturned to promote this noble cause. The school

has also taken up initiatives of conserving water and electricity. Students are frequently

sensitized with the issues of energy depletion and water scarcity. Therefore, various steps like

observing earth hour every week, switching off electricity sources when not in use are strictly

implemented .The school also urges its students to save water and promotes controlled and

careful water usage and rain water harvesting on –campus. The school is a no-plastic zone and

to reduce the use of plastic, the students are allowed and encouraged to bring only Steel tiffin

boxes and water bottles.

As part of the programme,the students presented a beautiful song followed by thought

provoking speeches and a wonderful street play on “Plastic-free environment” was also

showcased. Later the esteemed dignitaries and scouts and guides of the school planted saplings

in the school garden. Thus, the school stresses upon the importance of our green friends and

encourages the DPSiites to work towards a greener and cleaner environment, spreading a

strong message of nurturing nature for a better future.

Class 7 Farewell:

Teachers and children of class 6 bid farewell to class 7 the senior most class of the school .The

programme started with lighting of lamp by Head boy, Head Girl ,Headmistress and the class

teachers of class 7 followed by the speech by headmistress. Class monitors cut the cake along

with their class teachers. A short and crisp cultural programme was presented by class7

students. The students of class 7 played the presentation compiled by them dedicated to their

teachers. Teachers of different levels shared their memories of the years spent with the batch.

Head Girl Aashna gave a thank you speech .All the class teachers shared their feelings and

blessed the children and gave batch photograph as token of love and sovereign to cherish the

memories of the days spent in DPS Mahendra hills .Later on children enjoyed snacks with

their classmates and thanked the teachers for an amazing farewell,where-in students spoke

about their favourite moments, best buddies and teachers recollecting the memories and the

time spent by them in the school. Our dear students were bid farewell with a heavy heart, but

surely with a hope that they would achieve greater success in future.

Academic:

Revision continued in full swing in the month of February 2020 till the start of the annual

exams. Mock exams were conducted every day as part of revision till the 13th of February

2020. The final exams were conducted from the 15th of February and concluded on 29th of

February 2020.

In order to familiarise parents of new students about the school processes, academic, co-

curricular and sports, an orientation was conducted for new parents on 19th February 2020 to

apprise them of the school processes in academics, sports and co-curricular activities. A club

showcase was also organised for the benefit of parents.

IIT Orientation:

The school has initiated IIT foundation course from class VIII. Parents whose wards were

registered for the course were invited for an orientation on the 29th of February 2020. Mr.

Gautam, head of IRA Academy apprised parents of the course structure and the syllabus in

Math, Physics and Chemistry.

The new batch (2020-21) of Class XII had a welcome Assembly.

The assembly was addressed by Principal & Vice-Principal with their words of Wisdom.

They welcomed the new batch of Class XII and motivated them to give their best in the final

stages of schooling. In keeping with this motto DPS Nacharam had a wonderful two-day

induction program on 12-13th February 2020. Each day began with a session of Yoga and

mindfulness. Assembly followed by Music teacher Ramesh and team who entertained

students with soothing music.

12th FEBRUARY, 2020 - INDUCTION-DAY-1

On the first day the subject teachers outlined the scope of their respective subjects. This was

followed by a session on navigating the career options available to them and the importance

of goal setting. The final event planned for the day was a visit to the one of its kind Artificial

Intelligence lab, Robotics Lab & ATL Labs (Design Thinking Projects). Mr. Subhash

organized the visits to all the labs. The students were inspired to think out the box for various

applications of artificial intelligence and the variety of problems that can be resolved. The

students also went through a design thinking process where they were asked to think about

various problems they have come across and try and find ways in which they would be able

to develop a solution accordingly. This will help the children develop a problem-solving

mindset and come up with great solutions that will help make a lot of lives better. Mr.Subash

and Mr.Tarun Conducted introduction to Robotics with Lego Kits and its functions and

application in real time. Introduction to Animation and Photos shop Session:Mr. Prasad

Conducted Animation and Photoshop session for new class XII students. Students were

introduced to basics of Animation using flash and photo editing techniques using photo shop.

13th FEBURARY, 2020- INDUCTION-DAY-2

The highlights of the second day were two sessions. The resource persons for the first session

were Mr. John from Germany and Ms. Vidya Nambirajan from India. They were from PABS

an Automotive Service Organization that is associated with Indo Chamber Commerce in

Vocational Training Automobile Service Technician courses. The students were made aware

of the fact that today Automobile Training is a highly sort after vocation and PABS focuses

on Global Automobile Training with real time Workshop experience to the youth. This can

enhance the skill set of the youth and guide them in the right path to attain Certifications that

match job skills in various International locations. Further on they explained in detail about

the Course Structure and placements.

This was followed by a workshop on the Company Secretary Course by Mr Palvai Vikram

Reddy, Chairman ICSI (The Institute of Company Secretaries of India). Hyderabad Chapter.

Mr. Vikram Reddy – Spoke about Company Secretary (CS) course being one of the most

professional courses in the market which has a lot of scope in various fields as each company

needs good CSs. He spoke about the course structure, the exam system, the Executive &

Professional Courses being offered by ICSI..

He inter-related the talk with real life experiences and reiterated the fact the each child has a

different personal capacity. This course can be teamed up with courses like Law, MBA and

other courses which can enhance the capability of the student for better job prospects.

CAREER SESSION by Ms. Vandana Dadi, Career Counselor.

The Career Counselor oriented students - Navigating Career Cruise / Goal Setting for all the

students in batches.

The objective of the session was Self-evaluation and Goal Setting which will further train

them to make better decisions about courses and career options that they can choose going

forward.

The session started with an Introduction about the importance of goal setting, followed by a

worksheet which was given to the students to evaluate their skills and rate the areas which

will give them an idea about their strengths and weaknesses. Self- evaluation was followed by

a discussion on strategies to improve the skills. At the end of the session students did the Goal

setting worksheet to get a better picture of the planning for the upcoming year. There was a

discussion about the action plan to realize goals. The 45 minutes workshop ended on time and

students gave a positive response on taking the inputs and continue to prepare the portfolio of

activities they will do during the coming year.

5th / 6th FEBRUARY – HALL TICKETS ISSUE -SESSION BY SWAMI

BODHMAYANANDJI FOR CLASS X & XII - AUDITORIUM

Hall tickets to class X and XII students (2019-20) were issued on 5th & 6th Feb respectively.

Over 960 students and their parents participated in the event held in the school Auditorium.

Principal, Mrs. Sunitha Rao started the session by emphasizing the importance of the biggest

achievement of their student life and asked them to put their best foot forward. Also present

were Ms. Nandita Sunkara, Senior Vice Principal and Dr. Renu Gahlawat, Vice Principal. The

His pertinent words about recycling the mind are not only the need of the hour but also found

an echo in each heart. He instructed the students to align mind and heart and build a symphony

in order to succeed in life. The session came to a close with the distribution of certificates to

the student council members of DPS Nacharam. Class X and XII students received their Hall

tickets from Swamiji. Parents greatly appreciated the efforts of the school in organizing such

motivational sessions.

8TH FEBURARY:CLASS XII-FAREWELL(2019-20)

The campus was a riot of colors on 8th February 2020 as DPS Nacharam bid Adieu to its Class

XII students. The theme ‘I, Me, Myself – The Journey’ saw both the teachers and students

going down the memory lane. It all began on an auspicious note with the lighting of the lamp

and the prayer. Principal Mrs Sunitha Rao addressed the students wishing them well for their

upcoming exams and future. Chairman M. Komraiah sir’s words of wisdom will also be a

cherished memory for the students. Director M. Pallavi ma’am interacted with the students

stressing the importance of values on the eve of venturing out into the world as adults.

The students of class XI enthralled all with their mesmerizing performances. The highlight of

the event was the ramp walk by class 12 Students and their competing for various titles like

Ms Congeniality, Ms Elegance etc. The release of the year book was like the icing on the cake.

The nostalgia of the event was palpable. The outgoing batch of 2020 expressed their gratitude

to the teachers remembering their days with fondness. They vouched for the fact that DPS

Nacharam helped mould them into the confident youngsters and that they will sad to leave the

portals of their Alma Mater.

12TH FEBRUARY : CLASS XI PTM REPORT: - LOW ACHIEVERS

PTM was for low achievers to appraise about the promotion policy to XII grade. Principal

and Vice principal addressed the parents and explained about the promotion policy in detail.

Students who failed in subjects were given Retest with undertaking letters The parents signed

an undertaking to ensure that a desirable and conducive monitoring will be provided to their

ward for the Academic year 2020-2021. Parents were explained about identifying their ward’s

strengths and weaknesses and how they must increase their focus on their academics. Parents

understood the promotion policy and were given an opportunity for a retest for their wards.

Both the coordinators addressed and explained the Retest schedule to the parents. Retest

exams were held and another PTM will be conducted on 22nd Feb with conditional promotions.

15th FEBURARY - PTM – Class XI (2019-20)

All the class teachers sent messages to parents to attend the PTM on 15th (Saturday) with

staggered timings. School also initiated sending messages well in advance for parents to plan

accordingly. PTM was for XI to XII promotion. Most of the parents met class teachers and

collected the report cards after discussing their wards academic performance. They have taken

the suggestions of teachers and coordinators too.

20TH FEBRUARY – EXTENDED CURRICULUM – PVA - MUSIC AND DANCE

WORKSHOPS

On 20th February afternoon our school conducted dance and music workshops for 12th class

in which PVA department taught them dance styles like Urban and Hip-hop and music. It was

an hour’s session and children enjoyed the dance moves and the music session. Students

participated with utmost enthusiasm expressed their satisfaction over these programs and

conveyed that they wanted these activities frequently. This workshop was a great success in

terms of giving children a new experience of dance and dance styles.

EXTENDED CURRICULUM- 22nd FEBRUARY, DESIGN THINKING – VISIT -

ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE, ROBOTICS & ATL LABS

Artificial Intelligence introduction to Class XII Student.

Mr. K.Ranga Chary session on implementation of AI in various fields like agriculture,

Automobile and software development and future AI. The students were inspired to think out

the box for various applications of artificial intelligence and the variety of problems we can

solve through Artificial Intelligence. The students were shown videos on future trends of AI

in various fields. This will help the children develop a problem solving mindset and come up

with great solutions that will help make a lot of lives better. The platform provided by the

school and the management continue to help children become a better version of themselves

by enhancing their skills and knowledge.

Introduction to Robotics for class XII Student.

• Mr.Prasad Conducted a session on Robotics with Lego EV3 Kits and its functions and

application in real time. In the session students were introduced Robotics and their

potential impact on students‘ learning in different subject areas (Physics,

Mathematics, Engineering, Informatics and more) and on personal development

including cognitive, meta-cognitive and social skills, such as: research skills, creative

thinking, decision making, problem solving, communication and team working skills,

all of them being essential skills necessary in the workplace of the 21st century .The

students were shown different robotics models with their construction methods and

application using programing language.

The platform provided by the school and the management continue to help children become

a better version of themselves by enhancing their skills and knowledge.

Introduction to ATL for class XII Student.

Mr. Subhash Conducted session on Atal Tinkering Lab for grade XII Students. The students

were introduced about the Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) was set up in NITI Aayog for

transforming the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem in the country. The students were

apprised on AIM of establishing a network of Atal Tinkering Laboratories (ATL)with the

objective of creating scientific temper as well as cultivating the spirit of curiosity and

creativity among young minds. ATL provides an enabling environment for students to

innovate through a do-it-yourself approach. The Labs will be equipped with sophisticated

machines and instruments such as 3D Printers and Microcontrollers for honing the technical

and innovation related skills of students. They will help to bring theoretical concepts to life

and inculcate a range of skills including those pertaining to design, computational thinking

and physical computing. Due to the practical orientation of this approach, students will learn

to “make” which, in turn, can lead to the development of real-world applications and new

enterprises. Students were also introduced to the main objectives of the Lab. Introduction was

given about the 3D printer and the software used to make the image to be printed.

25th FEBRUARY : EXTENDED CURRICULUM - SKILL BASED TRAINING

PROGRAMME (WARLI ART)

“Art and Craft Workshop on Warli Art for grade XII”- was organized on 25th February

2020, in Delhi Public School, Nacharam. The main focus of the workshop was to bring out

the creativity of the students and to help students to spread awareness describing the value of

folk painting practices in India. Around 350 students of grade XII participated in an

enthusiastic and exuberant spirit.

The workshop included two events:

1. A PPT and documentary on Warli Art

2. Making a bookmark inspired by Warli Art.

The Art and Craft workshop was an innovative idea

which was initiated by DPS Nacharam to provide

gratifying platform and enhance the creativity of the

youngsters. The students showcased their talents in a creative manner.

ACADEMIC SUPPORT CLASSES- CLASS XII- In view of the readiness for the next

subject Board Exams - On all Holidays and Sundays, both Class X & XII Board students were

provided with academic support classes for the upcoming board exams from 9:00 am to 1:00

pm by all the Subject teachers. Regular days, academic support and online classes are being

provided for all the students.

28TH FEBRUARY - HOSTELERS VISIT TO RAMAKRISHNA MUTT

The programme conducted by Ramakrishna Mutt on the event of National Science Day was

fruitful.The Chief Guest for the event was Shri. Krishna Kumar, a nuclear Scientist and child

prodigy Master Hemang Vellore.

VIHE taught the students about about spiritual and moral learning rather than class room

learning. To develop out of the box thinking and have a practical approach towards Life.

Science helps us see the truth behind the very existence. It cannot be learnt within the 4

walls of the classroom and one has to go beyond.

Shri. Krishna Kumar enumerated the fact the many thing were invented in our country but

very few of the outside world were aware of the inventions. Hence, Science day can be

called as National Resurgence Day exclaimed Mr. Krishna Kumar.

Later students were explained about Swami Vivekananda’s perspective towards life.

Overall it has been an enriching experience for the hostel students.

In view of increasing the awareness of mathematics, the school had successfully organized

AMC 8, AMC 10 & AMC 12. Our DPS Nacharam was the only school to have ensured

maximum participation of students in Telangana.

26th FEBRUARY- COOKING ACTIVITY WITHOUT FIRE– BUSINESS STUDIES

7 students of Delhi Public School, Nacharam were called up for an interview by the

Doordarshan studio to speak about their wonderful innovations at a startup India show at their

studio. It was a wonderful platform given to these students to showcase their innovations.

After every pitch the students were given inputs about the feasibility and the market reach of

each innovation so that the students understand the scope and reach of their innovations. There

were six innovations that were showcased by the students of DPS, Nacharam. They were:

Farm-Tech, Cost effective ECG, Medical Robot, Alzheimer’s detection strip, marine rover

and the women’s safety band. Farm-Tech was an innovation for the complete automation of

the farm and also give a lot of aid and tips to the farmer so that he/she can increase his/her

yield and profits. The cost effective ECG aimed at building an alternative solution to the

existing highly expensive equipment. The medical robot as the name suggests, is a robot that

takes complete care of the medical need of the patient, from the timely reminder of medicines

to checking the patient’s heart rate all of this can be done by the robot. The Alzheimer’s strip

can help detect if the patient maybe suffering from Alzheimer’s because it is believed that

Alzheimer’s can be easily cured in the early stages than later. Marine rover is aimed at

making a device that can go to all the depths underwater that humans still haven’t been able

to reach so that all the underwater mysteries can be solved. The women’s safety band is a

wristband that is designed to make a call to the police and then also put a message to the

person’s near and dear ones so that immediate measures can be taken to protect the individual

from any type of harm.

All the students are very thankful to Delhi Public School, Nacharam and the Doordarshan

management for providing this wonderful opportunity to them showcase their innovations on

Television.

8TH FEBRUARY - CPR CERTIFICATES TO TEACHERS

Certificates of CPR Training held for the

staff last year (2019-20) were distributed on

8th February,2020 by the Vice Principal, Ms.

Nandita Sunkara. The First aid and CPR

training program was conducted under the

leadership of Canadian Red Cross certified

trainers to create awareness regarding the

first aid skill in school children and the staff

and to equip them with a sense of purpose to enhance health and safety standard at the school

and the Community.

15TH February – RK MUTT- SHRADDHA – YOUTH CAMP

The Ramakrishna Math had organized the ‘Shraddha Youth Camp’ for boys on

Saturday 15th February 2020. This camp has brought immense knowledge and light

to the participants. Nithish Chouti from XII-A was the only school student to attend

the camp from school. Nithish learnt the true spirit of individualism.

In his own words: After that we had an introductory speech by Swami Bodhamayananda

about the theme – ‘Sraddha’, we went for mantra chanting and from there to visit the Temple.

We went to the Vidhya Hall and saw an audio visual on ‘Transforming Indians to Transform

India’. Then we had a talk by Gampa Nageshwar Rao, a famous psychiatrist, who spoke about

the problems of the youth and ended it with ‘Always Keep Smiling’. Next we had a lecture

by Swami Bodhamayananda and saw an audio visual of Vivekananda in Hyderabad and had

a group discussion on it. After that we had a talk by Raka Sudhakar, a senior journalist, who

gave a motivational speech with his short stories. We later had an interaction with Srinivas

Sir who explained about the lapses of students during interviews. The day came to an end with

certificate distribution along with three books. It was a wonderful experience for me and I

thank Ramakrishna Math and the school for organizing such camps.

The grade 12 students of Delhi Public School, Nacharam visited WonderLa on 29th February

2020, Saturday. After the prayer and instructions by Principal Mrs. Sunitha Rao and Vice

Principal Mrs. Nandita Sunkara, the 294 students of grade 12 headed with 15 PGT’s

accompanied the students to the amusement park. The one- hour onward journey was filled

with mirth and laughter. On reaching Wonderla, the students who were brimming with

excitement, enthusiastically explored the land and water rides till 4 pm. After capturing their

memories in the form of photographs, the students boarded their buses.

Their glee and merriment echoed within the buses in the form of music, dance and laughter.

Vice Principal Mrs. Nandita Sunkara greeted the students and listened to their exhilarating

experiences. Students were fetched by their parents by 6 pm. Thus, a thrilling day came to a

close with memories for Life.

Theme: Welcome Setting New Goals

Goals without purpose is like intelligence without ambition. The quite morning started off

with a mesmerizingly coordinated assembly by students of 12-A. Sweet melodious were sung

in praise to god. The hosts, Nithish and Sri Charana anchored this event. A course of

knowledge was passed around with a new word by Chris Daniel and a wave of motivation

was waltzed along with a thought by Anas. The latest headlines of this week was given by

Advita – An intelligence insight on this week’s theme “Welcome Goals” was given by

Sagarika and Nayef in the form of a wonderful speech. They emphasized on setting long term

and short term goals, time management and prioritizing the works to achieve their goals.

Jataved, Divyanshi and Advita mesmerized everyone with their songs. This formal yet

aesthetically pleasing event was concluded by motivational words by Vice Principal.

CPR TRAINING CERTIFICATE DISTRIBUTION – 28TH – FEBRUARY

CPR Training held for the students on 13th January 2020 were distributed on 28th February,

2020 by the Vice Principal, Ms. Nandita Sunkara. The First aid and CPR training program

was conducted under the leadership of Canadian Red Cross certified trainers to create

awareness regarding the first aid skill in school children and the staff and to equip them with
