His early years were spent helping on the farm, especially tending to the horses. He participated in all the functions held at Freedhome Hall, including a play in his teenage years. After completing his education, he left home at an early age. Ed was a man of many talents and worked near and far. His employment history included positions in Winnipeg, Saskatoon, Kitimat, BC and Yorkton. He worked at the aluminum smelting plant and as a long shoreman. For a time he managed the Blackstone Hotel, owned and operated Yorkton’s first pizza restaurant, Pizza Plenty, sold farm equipment, drilled wells, operated a backhoe and was employed at IMC. Eventually, Ed discovered the world of auctions and immediately fell in love with that whole way of life. During his time there, he acquired many friends and never forgot those who helped him along the way when help was needed. He was also an active member of the Sask Auctioneers Association and enjoyed attending the yearly conventions. Outside of work, Ed loved being outside and exploring the countryside. Harvest season was Ed’s favourite time of year, and he loved helping area farmers get their crops off with his beloved Ford combine. Broken ChainWe knew little the

day that God was going to call

your name. In life we loved you dearly, In death we do the same.

It broke our hearts to lose you.

But you didn’t go alone. For part of us went

with you, Th e day God called

you home.You left us peaceful

memories, Your love is still our guide.

And though we cannot see you,

You are always at our side. Our family chain

is broken and nothing seems the same.

But as God calls us one by one,

Th e chain will link again.By Don Tranmer

In Memoriam

Captain Patrick RushowickNov. 17, 1984 - June 11, 2013If we had one moment, just a single slice of the past. That we could hold close forever, and make that moment last.

We’d put that moment in a safe, where our hearts abode. We would open it when we needed, and only we would know the code.

We could choose a time of laughing,a time of happiness and fun.We could choose a time that tried us,and everything we’ve done.

When we thought about that moment,it would always make us smile. One that would always push us,to walk that extra mile.

If we’re feeling sad and low,if we’re struggling with what to do.We’d open our safe, and watch our moment through.

There are moments we can think of,that would lift our spirits every time.Moments when you made us laugh,That twinkle in your eyes.

For us to only pick one moment,to cherish, save and keep,is proving really diffi cult, because we’ve gathered up a heap!

Deep inside our hearts, there is that safe and inside, there is room for many moments, hundreds if we tried.

We’re each building our own library, embedded in our hearts, for all the moments spent with you, before you had to part.

We open it up whenever we want andpick a moment and watch it through, each library is a promise,That we will never, ever forget you.

—Love, Mom, Dad,James & Tessa

PLAN NUMBER 1-3-664 COZY BUNGALOWThis cozy bungalow

may appear small from the street but, thanks to careful design, includes all the amenities a home-owner could wish for.

The covered entry leads into a foyer with a linen closet and coat cupboard on the left. Directly ahead is the great room, with a view to a covered deck and the back garden beyond. The gas fireplace in the great room will spread its glow as far as the open-plan

dining area and kitchen. The dining area

enjoys access to the cov-ered deck, and includes a large window. The kitchen separated from the great room and din-ing area by a work island, features a double sink lit by a corner window, as well as a pantry and plenty of counter space.

The laundry room is conveniently located near the kitchen, and includes a broom closet and coat cupboard, as well as access to the dou-ble garage.

The master suite over-looks the back garden for privacy. Double basins and a glassed-in shower stall in the en-suite will ease the morning rush hour. Natural light will filter through the win-dow next to the soaker tub, and the roomy walk-in closet adjacent to the en-suite will accommo-date clothing and acces-sories.

The second and third bedrooms (which could serve as a den) share a three-piece bathroom. The third bedroom, over-

looking the front garden, has an extra-wide win-dow sill that could make a seating area, perfect for curling up with a good book.

An L-shaped stairway to the optional basement area is tucked in near the laundry room. Ceilings measure nine feet high on the main floor.

On the exterior, fin-ishes include stucco and decorative wooden shin-gles, as well as painted trim.

This home measures 46 feet wide and 61 feet, eight inches deep, for a total of 1,748 square feet, not including the option-al basement.

Plans for design 1-3-664 are available for $725 (set of 5), $820(set of 8) and $896 for a super set of 10. B.C. residents add 7% Prov. Sales Tax. Also add $35.00 for Priority courier charges within B.C. or $65.00 outside of B.C. Please add 5% G.S.T. or 13% H.S.T. (where applicable) to both the plan price and postage charges.

Our NEW 47TH Edition of the Home Plan Catalogue containing over 400 plans is avail-able for $15.50 (includes taxes, postage and han-dling). Make all cheque and money orders pay-able to “JENISH HOUSE DESIGN LTD” and mail to:
