Bedlam Vintage & Antiques Market will have the first showing of paintings from local artist in their front foyer, the opening of their museum that will celebrate the long and venerable life of the building and the significant role it plays in the history and present day of the city.
Also, the opening of the first vintage 1940’s themed tea room in the north with live music and fashion displays throughout the day.This is just a sample of the many events planned for this years culture night, and of course there will be the usual fascinating and wonderful antique & vintage jewellery, furniture, clothes, books,and art for you to wander round and admire maybe even take some home with you.

Culture Night will see cultural venues across the City of Derry open their doors for a programme of entertainment, discovery and adventure.
On Friday September 21st 2012, locals and visitors across the island of Ireland will enjoy the unique experience of Culture Night, a free night of entertainment, discovery and adventure taking place in 34 locations throughout Ireland.
Museums, galleries, churches, historic houses, artists’ studios and cultural centres will open
their doors late into the evening welcoming people of all ages to taste and sample their cultural delights for free on the evening.
Remember so many of the venues open on Culture Night are open for you to enjoy all year round so keep your Culture Night programme handy for use throughout the year as you plan your cultural adventures!

Peter Tudhope Exhibition
Peter attended Edinburgh, Glasgow and Manchester Arts schools, attaining an Honors degree from Glasgow and Masters Degree from Manchester. He worked in many different jobs to make a living including as an Art teacher, College Tutor, fabricating large scale public sculpture and marketing artists.
Throughout, Peter has exhibited his paintings and drawings in galleries throughout the UK. In 2010 he decided to paint as a full time occupation. Soon after he started to visit Northern Ireland on a regular bases and is in the process of relocating from Scotland.

Bringing the ever popular Culture Night Fashion Show to the newly regenerated Craft Village. This year’s production promises to deliver a showcase of Derry Fashion Talent in the run up to 2013.

CCA’s exhibition Contours of Common will take place throughout the city of Derry.It will feature new and recent works Lara Almarcegui; Amy Balkin; Andrew Dodds; Andrea Geyer; Sean Lynch; Seamus Nolan; Olivia Plender; and Johan Tirén.
The project is a collaboration with PLACE, the Architecture and Built Environment Centre in Belfast.

CowParade is the world’s largest and most successful public art exhibition, having taken place in over 75 cities globally since it started in 1999. It brings life-size fibre-glass reinforced cows to the streets.
15 cows and 5 mini moos designed and painted by local communities, schools and artist will be displayed in various locations throughout the city.

Dance and Music performanceWith it’s home in Derry~Londonderry, Echo Echo Dance Theatre Company is one of Ireland’s leading dance companies.
For Culture Night, the company will produce a 30-minute improvised dance performance accompanied by live music from acclaimed local composer Christopher Norby. These dancers have fearless improvisory skills, and alongside Christopher’s awesome musical talent, they will leave you breathless.

Private view of an exhibition by Melita Denaro. Denaro studied at the central school of Art, London gaining a BA (Hons) Ceramics and later at the Royal Academy Schools, London gaining a Postgraduate Diploma in Painting.
The exhibition’s title is ‘On Home Ground’ and will consist of twenty six paintings executed near her home on the Isle of Doagh, Co. Donegal.

St. Augustine’s is a beautiful, welcoming little Church, tucked away at the bottom of the Grand Parade on the historic City Walls. Visitors comment on its architecture, its aura of serenity, the friendliness of its welcome and its windows which feature some of the finest and most colourful stained glass to be found in the city. St. Augustine’s will be open from 10am and from 7pm – 9pm will feature performances from the Church Choir, Ardmore Folk Group and Foyle and Londonderry College Jazz Ensemble.
