Crop Circle Song

One morning we woke up and all had to start thinking like Egyptians, not the painted nobles and man-animal gods, we had to imagine a new life under the thumb of a dominant force. In the name of peace the world is being cleaved back into many small cultures.

They traded commercially but were not accepting of each others values and barely tolerant. Some deny their neighbor’s right to exist. Foreign business people were frequent victims of extortions and attacks. Explosions kill many in crowded areas. Discourtesy toward others was a general rule. It was how mankind learned to live without global atomic war. The extent to which the impulse to war remained was in the form of conspiracies to get drunk and brawl with someone a few housing projects away who admire a different sport hero. Here or there a bomb. In the human home it is common that fathers impress the wisdom on their children that no high school team was worth killing over or dying for. The human race was on an admirable course having relinquished wars and eliminated nuclear weapons. Nuclear weapons first caught our attention.

Because you are our neighbor the detonations effected our space. Many of us thought to eliminate the pest but reason prevailed that we must first investigate. Fortunate too for you. Your universe is a mess. We exist in our universe as pure consciousness filling an eternal space bubbling with thought energy. Your universe is like a science experiment left half finished. You are the intelligent life of your universe yet you are

skittering around on the surface of round rock made of dirt and mud with a molten center. You are in bodies, you have to eat, I suppose you know that. Our investigation yielded the stories. Using our vault of time we unrolled all of your previous existences on the block and expanded our universe with the stories of your millions of lives over the last million years since your minds began expansion. We enjoy all of your stories. The unborn consciousness of this fundamentally flawed universe. How you managed in short order you resolved the use of atomic energy was a profound step of wisdom and much to our relief. Still we observed you.

Do you see the problem? We could unravel your past but not your future. For a millennium of your ages we observed into your future. The question in our mind, whether to free you from physical dependence. We were baffled, a consciousness that could not free itself of carbon. Your carbon life could only recognize as many elements as I have fingers on my hand. So to speak, the physical universe is limited. This was a tragedy for your potential. Part of us said yes to freed, part said no to interference. Some said let them die while others lamented not getting to better know you.

We eventually decided to take action, the population of your planet had reached a point when the agony of existence as a carbon pile

was wiping out most of the human mind. Your stories became as interesting as those on a sister rock circling your sun, Io. You were becoming as interesting as Io a planet completely dominated by algae and six foot tall worms, both frozen 98% of the time. We tried to use our thoughts to send a comet your way to wake you, like the plague you put on yourself that killed many of your population with a result that it got you thinking once more. We look in on you and some of you seem to have a vague awareness when we do. It was unconscionable for us to consider interfering with you. Your instability made us fear for ourselves. After nuclear weapons were put away some of us thought and feared something similar might follow.

We look at you today like a baby, you are harmless to others and at great risk to yourselves.

Perhaps a show of strength would help. We talked to Yehwah, he said he knew someone on your planet named Moses. But Moses was not living at the right time. And since the time of Moses you show no evidence of any progress toward justice, or peace while become astute at slavery, fornication, the arts and science of war and reaching endlessly to satisfy your lust for self indulgences. In our attempt to send a clarion call we gathered many of us on your

portals and focused through portals in our universe on a single point of your world. Our plan was to make the pyramids of Egypt disappear. What an impression that would make, the labor of seven generation, armies of captive nations yoked into service. An attempt to remember one man whose name is now lost. We would do it when you could not see, in the dark, at night during the summer when there would be fewer tourists and no one would be hurt. The human race would be reminded of a time before it became spoiled.

Imagine our disappointment when all we could do is shift a little sand. Rosettes of dunes, geometrical algorithms of heart breaking asymmetry. No one saw them, they blew away by morning. It was only in farmed fields we found our passion toward the life on earth could be expressed and observed by you. That is our message to you. You are there we are here, we are manifesting to you a sympathetic existence. We say to you this: Try to have a nice day.\\\END MESSAGE
