Christopher Nicholas Sarantakos was born on December 19,1967, to parents John and Dimitra Sarantakos. Christopher wasraised in Long Island, New York, with his two older brothers J.D. andCosta. Christopher has a Greek heritage because his mom Dimitra

was originally born in Greece and His father is 100% Greek but wasborn first generation American.

Christopher was first introduced to magic by his aunt Stella.From that day on Christopher would become known as the worldfamous Criss Angel: Mindfreak! But it wasnt that simple. Criss hadsome major ups and downs on his road to fame. In 1994 Crissmarried Joann Winkheart; everything was great until John (his father)was diagnosed with stomach cancer and was said to only live threemore weeks. John really inspired Criss to do what he does today andeven though the doctor told John three weeks, John pushed throughanother three years!! Everything seemed fine, Criss career wasstaring to bloom and everyone was happy. But sadly in 1998 Johndied form his cancer, Criss knew that from that day on that he had topocus on what he really want.

For the next few years Criss preformed his magic in local bars

and night clubs. Criss went to numerous theaters trying to get jobsbut know one would take him. Criss knew he had to get his name outthere in some way. So in the 2001 Criss found a manager to supporthis career! Criss and his crew decided to go to Japan to film Crissdoing street magic. Then Criss released one of his first DVDs calledCriss Angel: Made in Japan.

Criss hit it big time when he got a chance to perform his showon Broadway! His show was entitled CRISS ANGEL: MINDFREAK.The show came out in 2001 right after 9/11; everyone told Criss thatthe show would not sell because people were afraid to come to New

York after the attack. Criss told everyone that his show would be ahuge success and it was! Criss show ended up being the #1 show onBroadway!! From there Criss knew he could do anything!

Toward the end of 2001 Criss was know world wide. Criss wasone of the new guys in the magic community. But even though hewas the new guy he pulled though to win the 2001 Magician of the

Year award. He also won the same award in 2004, and 2005. He is theonly three time winner of the award. In 2002 Criss made a deal with

A&E networks to do a weekly show called Criss Angel: Mindfreak.Criss was the first magician to have a weekly television show. Hisshow quickly became the #1 show on A&E. Criss show was sosuccessful that he was able to do a second season. In 2006, Crisswife Joann filed for divorce. After the divorce Criss filmed his 3rd

season of his hit A&E show.

Through out 2007 Criss made many TV. appearances including

2. Ellen Degenorus

3. Oprah

4. CSI: New York

5. Las Vegas

And his hit NBC show Phenomenon.

Also in 07 Criss wrote a book: Criss Angel Mindfreak : SecretRevelations.

Criss has only lived in two states his whole life. New York, andNevada, from 2001 to 2006 Criss was living in the Aladdin Hotel andCasino in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Today, Criss is still living in Las Vegas now at the Luxor Hoteland is currently filming season 4 of Mindfreak and his new moviecoming out this summer called Mandrake the Magician. Also I amproud to tell you that Criss won the International Magician of the YearAward on Thursday February 14th, 2008! Now he is the only four timereceiver of this award. Congratulations!!
