CHILDREN SING AT GLADSTONE
Last Friday night over 35 of our students performed
a series of Carols at the Gladstone Community
Christmas Carols Event. These students had been
practicing during their lunch times and are
preparing to sing at the Crescent Head event on the
15th of December. The students were joined on
stage by students and staff from Gladstone and
Smithtown Public Schools. Following our children
many of our students also performed as part of
dance troupes from across the Macleay. Well done
to all of the students who took part in this event.

CAPTAIN’S SPEECHES A HIT
Last Monday morning ten of our best and brightest
Year 5 students presented their case to become
our 2020 School Captains to their peers. Speeches
were of a very high quality making voting a very
difficult decision for our students and teachers.
Voting commenced immediately after the
speeches with counting taking place by Mr Upcroft
and Mr Edwards on Monday after school.
Congratulations to all ten of our applicants who
spoke beautifully and all showed excellent
examples of themselves in the role of school
leaders.

Sydney as part of the Leadership Development
Initiative (LDI). This 18 month program is designed
to identify future school leaders early in their
careers and support their developing leadership
skills through shared professional learning. Mrs
Lipscombe has been supported through this
journey by Mr Dickinson as her mentor who, in
addition to the LDI workshops on Monday will be
also attending the future Principals learning group
on Friday this week.

Nasner and Sam Sharman visited the Year 6

THANK YOU FROM THE P&C
The P&C wish to thank all who donated to the
Tombola stall and raffle which was held at

the volunteers who came along to help out and to
Pandanus, Crescent Head Foodstore and Crescent

those who came out to support the event, to
Briella and Sofia for dancing, Annabelle and Sophia
for a beautiful duet and to the children who sang
in the choir. It was a great evening and over $450
was raised for the CWA who then gave all
proceeds to those affected by fires.

borrowing for the rest of the year so no need to
send in library bags. Overdue notices have been
sent home. If you have any queries please contact
Mrs Vermeulen or Mrs Lamb.
