Before we begin, some housekeeping . . .

• Create a NEW folder in your H:\ drive called Webpage

• All of your work MUST be saved in this folder

• Every image, every file, every linked document, button or background

• DO NOT save on your flash drive

We will begin by finding some backgrounds and images for your site.

A great place to start is a website call Iconbazaar

Here you will find backgrounds, buttons images and animations to help “jazz up” your website.

Before we move any further, “shop” for some icons that you would like to use and save them in your WEBPAGE folder.

Open FrontPage (found with MS Office), you will get a blank screen.

Click “Page Templates”

Select “Normal Page” for now.

We will look at frames pages later on.

Select Format Background

This will allow you to use one of the images you have saved as a background for your website.

Check the box, then click BROWSE to find you background image.

Now add titles, pictures and sections just as you would in MS Word.

Words of CAUTION:

1) Save often!!!

2) Use a font color choice that complements the background color (we want it eye-catching remember)

3) Use Normal fonts, like Times, Courier, and Arial, browsers often do NOT recognize the fancy ones.

Use the Insert Table option to create a table that we will use for links

To hyperlink:

1) Highlight the desired text

2) Right click and click Hyperlink or simply Press “Ctrl + K”

3) Copy the web address into the blank

You will create a 1 age Web Page about yourself.

Consider it like an autobiography, tell the viewer, (which will be only myself an members of the class if you choose to share) a little bit about yourself.

You should include:

1) Your name, age, birthday, hometown etc.

2) Hobbies / Interests (remember school appropriate)

3) Include some photos not of yourself but of your interests

4) Create a section called favourite websites using the table feature

5) Hyperlink your favourite websites
