Dear Ms. England:

Recently I have been researching leading local businesses that are active in the community. Your company keeps coming up as one the top businesses focused on the principle of “people helping people.” I am writing this letter to express my interest for employment at your business in response to your online-ad for a part-time teller position.

Your business’s active participation in the community caught my attention–you sponsor several organizations that greatly benefit the community such as: Big Brothers Big Sisters, Boys and Girls Club, Habitat for Humanity, etc. I would love to contribute to a business such as yours; I believe my skills more than satisfy the position requirements. I have extensive cash handling experience, superb math skills, computer literacy, and a credit history of over 700. I have two associate’s degrees in art and general studies from Mott Community College, and going for a bachelor’s in business management at U of M Flint. My experience includes work at: McDonalds as a back window cashier and a delivery driver/ sandwich artist for Jimmy Johns. As a cashier, I was responsible for an organized and balanced drawer, as well as being able to give change out correctly when on delivery.

The enclosed resume further lists my different skill sets and abilities, including my educational background, professional experience, and interpersonal skills. At Mott Community college I was the president of the music organization and had served as the secretary a year prior. I was in the Phi Theta Kappa honor society for achieving and maintaining high academic honors throughout my time at Mott. I’m organized and detail-oriented, enjoy working with a variety of people, and have a great attitude. I’m looking for a productive, challenging, growth-oriented position and would like the opportunity to learn more about your business and the position.

I would enjoy having a personal interview if you are interested in hiring me. I will make myself available at your convenience, during or outside of normal business hours. Thank you for your time and your consideration, I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely yours,

Estephanie Ward
