myLearning is Chisholm Institute’s new e-Learning framework and is underpinned by the integration of Moodle, Mahara and Equellawith the existing MyChisholm student space, Strata and other core IT systems.

The myLearning project is strongly aligned with Chisholm Institute strategic priorities.
Specifically , the project addresses the key requirements of Priority #3 of the 2011 Chisholm e-Learning plan
•Provide learning management capability

•Provide flexible & pedagogically sound delivery options for students and industry partners.

Moodle is an online Learning Management System. Moodle hosts the websites for Chisholm e-Learning offerings. The key Features of Moodle are:-

Mahara is an Personal Learning Environment, providing a personal space on the web for all Chisholm staff and students. Mahara is fully integrated with Moodle. The Key features of Mahara are :-

Equella is a digital repository , adding powerful functionality to Moodle by managing online Learning Content. The key features are :-

The myLearning project is a major initiative for Chisholm Institute and has a number of associated processes and systems to ensure the project is deployed effectively across the Institute .

Detailed information about the MyLearning project is available via the Chisholm Knowledge Centre
E-Learning Services, the project coordinators, have developed an on-demand training resource site to support staff in developing skills and knowledge. All staff have also been provided access to this site.
Staff can request a Moodle site(sandpit) to explore the functionality of MyLearning and Course Coordinators (or appointees ) request and publish to the web a Live Moodle Course site.

This solution is supported by Skills Vic. The licensing for 2011, are as follows :-
Moodle $4.00 per user for 6 months access from first login$6.00 per user for 12 months access from first login$0 per user for training places funded by Skills Victoria

There is a process for the migration of existing SharePoint (myChisholm) sites to Moodle. Key elements of this process are:-
•Support via eLearning Design Course
•Moodle site developers will be advised to follow a process of migrating Learning resources using the Step by step guide being developed by ELS.
For TAFEVC sites (Blackboard), a case by case approach will be adopted. In some cases, external support from e-Works will be required to reformat and transfer content.

Chisholm Institute will focus its effort in 2011, by establishing a target of 150 Courses with LMS capability.
Delivery Centre Directors are prioritising Courses in each Centre to focus effort.
Course Coordinators (or appointee) will be contacted by ELS and provided Custom Induction training in 2011.
The Course teams members will be provided access to training and support via the e-Learning Design Course support structure.
