CALL FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST PURCHASE AND REMOVAL OF MULCH In Accordance with section 3.50 of the Local Government Act 1995, Part 3 (functions of local governments – closing certain thoroughfares to vehicles), the City of Busselton advises it will soon begin drainage upgrade works in Valley Road, Yallingup, requiring the closure of Valley road between Yallingup Beach Road and Hammond Road. The drainage works commenced on 22 October 2018 and are expected to take approximately 9 weeks to complete, subject to weather. Footpath and kerb works will also be conducted concurrently. Advance warning of the drainage works has been provided via the use of variable message boards located at strategic locations in the vicinity of the works. Traffic management and detours will be in place and it is advisable to seek alternative routes around the works wherever possible. The City apologises and will endeavor to minimize any inconvenience. The proposed name for Reserve 52464 is “Pitts Park” to honour the significant service of Mr Pitts to the community of Busselton. Feedback, is open until 4.00pm on Wednesday, 21 November 2018 and can be submitted electronically to [email protected] or mailed to the Chief Executive Officer, City of Busselton, Locked Bag 1, Busselton WA 6280 1080 BAITING IN CITY RESERVES - WARNING TO RESIDENTS The City will be undertaking feral animal control using 1080 poison in the following reserves from Thursday 1 November until Friday the 30 November 2018: • Ambergate Reserve 22614, Doyle Road Ambergate, (72ha), • Carbunup Reserve 38582, Bussell Hwy Carbunup River (42ha) • Spanish Settlers Reserve 1459 and Reserve 17656, Yoongarillup Road Yoongarillup (27ha) • Big Rock Reserve 28665, Caves Road Quedjinup, (76ha) The aim of the control program is to reduce the impacts of feral animals on native fauna and flora in the reserves. 1080 is poisonous and a danger to humans and domestic animals. Dogs must be kept on a leash at all times. Secondary poisoning can occur if a pet happens to eat an animal that has been killed by 1080 poison. Baiting will be carried out as per approval from the Department of Agriculture and Food Western Australia. Landowners adjacent to the reserve are encouraged to undertake fox and/or rabbit control on their properties to increase the effectiveness of control. For residential areas fox traps are available for loan, on payment of a fully refundable bond, from the City of Busselton or Geocatch. A protocol has been developed on best trapping practices, which is available at http://www.busselton.wa.gov.au/Environment-Waste/Environmental-Planning/Biodiversity/ Fox-Trapping-Using-Cage-Traps. In rural areas Fox control advice can be sought from Department of Agriculture and Food Western Australia (P: 9368 0333). The proposal only relates to Lot 9065 Dunsborough Lakes Drive, Lot 5000 Waterville Road and Lot 9066 Kawana Boulevard Dunsborough. Proposed changes to the Structure Plan include: rationalisation of residential densities in the R20 to R30 range; changes to the amount of land allocated for ‘Residential R40’ and ‘Tourist’ purposes; the removal of the ‘Local Convenience Centre’ site and design responses to bushfire hazards. The Busselton Pedal Prix event will once again return to the Busselton foreshore (West of the Equinox) on Sunday 19 August 2018. The 6 hour competition (10am – 4pm) will see teams race Human Powered Vehicles around a closed controlled circuit.A section of the foreshore carpark and adjacent roadway will be closed to create the circuit and as such will impact on access to the area. The closures will commence at 9.30am and conclude at 4.30pm on Sunday 19 August. The affected roads are as follows:

• West Street from the intersection of Geographe Bay Road to Marine Terrace• Geographe Bay Road from West Street to Gale Street

Road closure signs and associated detours will be in place. The City apologies for any inconvenience caused.For further information on the event and road closures please refer to the event websitewww.pedalprix.com.au/race/busselton/

Applications are invited from Sporting Clubs requiring the use of City reserves, including hard courts during the 2018-2019 Summer Season (1 October 2018 – 31 March 2019).

Applications are invited for new or renewal of existing Outdoor Exercise Permits requiring use of City reserves during the 2018-2019 Summer and/or Winter Season (01 October 2018 – 30 September 2019).
