Cormetech’s catalyst technologies work on theprinciple of Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR)and uniquely benefit from our proprietaryceramic extrusion technology, and vastworldwide experience in SCR system designand engineering. Our catalysts are ideal for avariety of fuels, flue gas properties, particulatecharacteristics and temperature ranges. Ourcatalyst composition minimizes deactivationcaused by poisons such as arsenic and calciumoxide deposits.

Cormetech’s catalyst formulation and catalyst type are customized foreach application, ensuring high NOx removal activity at very low-pressure

loss. Our honeycomb construction offers high mechanical strength for catalystdurability in addition to an efficient geometry for high surface area and low

pressure loss. We determine the honeycomb structure and cell pitch for eachcustomer application from a detailed technical analysis of system performance

requirements. Our versatile catalysts can be operated over a wide temperature range andprovide excellent resistance to poisons and erosion, resulting in long life and low lifecycle costto the customer. Our catalysts are installed in steel frames for easy handling during installationand replacement.

High NOx Reduction & Low SO2 Conversion

SO3 mitigation is a growing need among power plants. Cormetech offers a low SO2 conversioncatalyst that achieves less than 0.1% SO2 oxidation while balancing all other key productperformance features.

Catalyst performance and management is key to the successful operation of an SCRsystem. Our catalyst management services help our customers determine when catalystlayers should be replaced, restored, or a new layer added, based on catalyst deactivationrates, performance requirements, and system capabilities. As catalyst layers deactivate atdifferent rates depending upon the fuel fired, the information dictating which layer shouldbe replaced can be generated from our thorough performance audit. During this processwe also evaluate catalyst advancements available to the customer that may improve theperformance of the unit. Taking advantage of such product advancements can, in somecases, provide more than a 50% performance enhancement or cost reduction comparedto installing a new layer of original catalyst.

Our state-of-the-art catalyst activity test center in Durham, NC routinely monitorsfield sample performance to enable efficient and effective catalyst maintenanceplanning for our customers. Our test capability is supplemented by Corning’slaboratories in Corning, NY, and MHI’s laboratories in Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Japan.
