- Summary -

l Steady State Tests Showed:Ý Slight advantage of CSF+SCR as compared to SCR alone at

high inlet temperature (470 C). Both configurations achieved80-90% NOx conversion for NSR=0.8-0.9

Ý For lower inlet temperatures (345 C & 200 C) the CSF+SCRconfiguration achieved substantially better NOx conversion ascompared to SCR alone. CSF+SCR attained 70-90% NOxconversion for NSR = 0.7-0.9. The activity for NOx conversionfor SCR alone decreased with decreasing inlet temperaturewhile CSF+SCR maintained activity.

Ý The CSF+SCR system achieved 70% NOx conversion at 200 Cfor NSR 0.7-0.85 as compared to 10% for the SCR alone. Thisindicates that CSF+SCR is viable for light load and light-dutydiesel applications.

- Summary (Continued) -

l ESC Cycle Testing Showed:Ý For the 300 HP rating at an average exhaust temperature of

360 C, the SCR catalyst alone achieved 67% cycle NOxreduction at 0.98 NSR with NH3 slip as compared to 85% NOxreduction for the CSF+SCR system with no NH3 slip.

Ý For the 180 HP rating at an average exhaust temperature of290 C, the SCR catalyst alone achieved 58% cycle NOxreduction at 0.92 NSR with NH3 slip as compared to 90% NOxreduction for the CSF+SCR system at 0.96 NSR with no NH3slip.

Ý Due to higher NOx conversion and better NH3 utilization withthe CSF+SCR system, NH3 slip was substantially reduced.
