Remote SIMS Remote SIMS provides access for SIMS users in academies, independent and free schools to our SIMS support analysts, by telephone helpdesk and email – who provide support on data and technical issues across a range of SIMs modules. This service includes access to the SIMS support via telephone helpdesk and email to trained analysts to a SIMS user in an Academy School. The team will able to provide support on data, technical issues across a range of SIMs modules. Technical and functional support of SIMS modules Support with SIMS upgrades inclusive up to a maximum of 6 and 6 SIMS updates including the provision of upgrade/update notes (as applicable) which will be made available School Census (January, May and October) and School Workforce Census (November) including technical advice with mandated DfE returns impacting for school’s census, including provision of training pre-census. This excludes support post census submission into the DfE “Collect” database Remote fixing of data issues Provision of support materials (including Frequently Asked Questions) Access to 2 half day user workshops on relevant SIMS module The SIMS support team will answer a range of questions related to: Opening times Opening times The service is open 8am – 5pm Monday to Thursday, 8am – 4.30pm Friday. Open all office days excluding up to three days per year when the team will receive updates and training. Schools’ responsibilities Any hardware running SIMS must meet Capita’s minimum requirements. Availability This service is suitable only for academies and free schools that have purchased a licence for SIMS direct from Capita. Support for the following SIMS modules is not covered by the Remote SIMS Service: Profiles, IEP Writer, Private Funds Manager, Agora, Partnership Xchange and SIMS Learning Gateway.
