CELEBRATE DIVINE
MERCY SUNDAY April 8, 2018
2:30 pm St. Bonaventure
Homily, Saint Faustina’s Praises
Veneration of Divine Mercy Image Messages from St. Faustina’s Diary
Divine Mercy Chaplet Exposition and Benediction
This Feast emerged from the very depths of My Mercy... It is My desire that it be
Solemnly celebrated on the first Sunday after Easter...
Dear Parishioners, It is a great grace to celebrate the resurrection. We get a good picture of what God wants for our lives from the readings. God doesn’t want us to doubt His goodness but, as Jesus said to Thomas, “Do not be unbelieving, but believe.” Look at the evidence of God’s love and goodness to us and believe, make the choice to believe that God is behind all the good that happens. In addition, God also wants us to be a “community of believers…of one heart and mind [bearing] witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus” by our lives of faith. Finally, God wants us to “know that we love the children of God when we love God and obey his commandments.” He wants us to be loving people, loving all those in our lives. We don’t live our lives of faith alone. We need the support of others and they need our witness and support. This witness of faith and love is needed especially for those who are younger in faith. They look to us to see what this faith looks like in everyday life, how participating in the Eucharist affects what we say and do. Without that witness it is too easy to get lost when we try to believe without seeing. We help each other to take another step in faith. Fr. Richard Reflection Question: When do I find it hardest to believe? Who helps me to have faith?
