Why Choose CLS? We listen - To what kind of support you want, and when and how you want it. We are flexible and creative - We help you and your family/network design the supports that are right for you. We know that relationships are the key to success - CLS offers you choice in who supports you and what your support will look like.

CLS supports a variety of community inclusion options through individualized supports (not group support). Individualized support is provided to individuals through one-on-one support, the amount of funding and type of support provided depend upon the individual’s current disability-related needs as determined by CLBC.

Community InclusionThis service can be designed for individuals who require ongoing support to participate in community in a meaningful way and operates outside the individual participants’ homes (community based) or may operate within the individual participants’ homes (home based). both services may have a vocational focus, social / recreational focus, or some combination of the two.

OutreachThis service provides individuals living independently in the community with assistance in daily living. This service is available to individuals who own, lease, or rent their own homes. Outreach support provides targeted hourly support to individuals through one-on-one arrangements.

EmploymentThis service uses a variety of methods to ensure that individuals achieve employment within an integrated setting. This option includes supported employment, customized employment, and / or self-employment options.

Skill DevelopmentThis service provides individuals with support to develop skills that are required for healthy, semi-independent and/or independent living.

Support CoordinationThis service is tailored to the unique needs of the individual or family. It may involve counselling, resource / referral, education / training, scheduling, advocacy, or connecting people with natural support in the community.

Individualized Supports

The Community Living Society provides community inclusion supports, outreach,

development, employment and support coordination to adults

with Developmental Disabilities (DD) or Personalized Supports Initiative (PSI) funding living in the Vancouver Coastal, Simon Fraser, South Fraser and Upper

Fraser regions.
