A brief overview of the land's journey from Prairie to Pavement and the impact it has had on pollinators followed by

an in-depth look at native plants, their appropriate growing conditions and the pollinators they benefit.

Handouts will be provided with additional information and reference resources will be available to thumb through.

Presented by Becky Nichols an experienced gardener that lives and works on an Illinois Centennial farm.

She and her husband John hosted the 1996 Illinois Land Improvement Contractors Association Show on their farm.

In 1997 they received the Environmental Farm Stewardship Award from the Illinois Environmental Protection

Agency and the Illinois Department of Agriculture and she is a lifetime educator.

Plant species specially selected for container growing and nectar production for bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds.

Each 6-cell plant pack has 6 different plants, (each cell - 2”sq. x 2”deep) $15/6 pack (sales tax &

shipping extra). Plant in large containers or smaller single pots of your choice, water thoroughly, and enjoy the

visitors. Instructions will be provided with each kit and each plant will be labeled.
