Puppets on Parade at INTO OSU!That’s right, we said PUPPETS! Why puppets? Puppets are useful in the classroom for a variety of things: basic word stress, intonation, natural speech patterns, adding emotion/expression to speaking, etc. Plus they are fun! The idea was sparked at the TESOL conference in New Orleans in March and blossomed into a new idea…why not make a fun team-building project for our professional enrichment day—to make a puppet in the spirit of a colleague? The instructors had one term to make their puppet creations of each other, and here’s what they came up with!

Michelle Scholz with her Margot Volem puppet creation

Carly Gerig with Carly Gerig puppet made by Bob Gilmour

Bob Gilmour with Bob Gilmour puppet made by Erich White

Stephanie Foreman with Stephanie Foreman puppet

made by Randy Garver

Erich White has a bonding moment with

his puppet likeness made by Greg

Friedman

Jim Jamieson with Jim Jamieson puppet made by Erich Cutler

All the puppets and puppeteers on parade!
