Welcome to Mercy Care RBHA (Formerly Mercy Maricopa Integrated Care). We are the Regional Behavioral Health Authority (RBHA) for Maricopa County. Our goal is to provide you with access to high‑quality physical and behavioral health care. That’s why we have a large network of health care providers.

These providers support our mission to empower you on your path to recovery. We want to help you make good choices. We want you to live a healthy life.

About our network of providersWe’ve built our provider network to treat behavioral and physical health together. We pick our providers carefully. Providers included in this directory offer a wide range of services. These services are culturally sensitive, individual and specialty services for you and your family.

Our service area is Maricopa County and a small portion of Pinal County.

How to use this directoryThis directory provides a list of the physical and behavioral health providers. These are our network providers. It’s organized alphabetically, by city, specialty and provider’s last name. All providers in this directory accept Medicaid.

The directory includes services that may be available to adults who are:•

Determined to have a serious mental illness (SMI)• Eligible for Medicaid (also called the Arizona Health

Care Cost Containment System, or AHCCCS)• Determined to have general mental health and/or

substance abuse issues

You can find a listing of all available providers online at www.MercyCareAZ.org. You can find details about their locations, telephone numbers and what languages they speak. If you don’t have Internet access at home, most public libraries offer no cost Internet service.

Integrated careYou’re part of an integrated health care program. That means your physical and behavioral health providers can work together to consider your whole health‑behavioral health, physical health, medication and case managementneeds.

As a member of this program, you have a choice of providers. Your Primary Care Provider (PCP) helps coordinate your physical health care. You can choose any PCP in this directory. You may change your PCP at any time, for any reason. You can also choose to allow your PCP and your behavioral health team to share information. This will let them work together to help you get the right care at the right time.

Provider Directory

You’re the most important part of your health care team. You have the choice and right to decide where you go for services. The providers listed in this directory have agreed to provide you with health care, vision, dental and pharmacy coverage.

You may go to any of the providers listed in this directory. Some services and specialists may require a referral. That means you have to get approval in advance.

Getting specialty careIf your PCP thinks you need specialized treatment, he or she will give you a referral to see a specialist. A specialist is a doctor who provides health care services for a specific disease or part of the body. Some examples of specialists include oncologists, who treat cancer. You may also see a cardiologists, who treat heart conditions. There are also orthopedists, who treat bone, joint or muscle conditions.

It’s very important to get a referral from your PCP before you see a specialist. If you don’t have a referral before you get services from a specialist, you may have to pay for these services yourself. If the specialist wants you to come back for follow‑up visits, be sure to check with your PCP to find out if these visits are included under your original referral. If they aren’t included, your PCP can help you get a new referral for the additional visits.

If there are specific hospitals you wish to use, find out whether your PCP uses these hospitals. Certain health care services require prior authorization from Mercy Care RBHA. This means the service must be approved by Mercy Care RBHA before it will be covered.

These includes services such as hospitalization or outpatient surgery. Check your Member Handbook for a complete list of services that require prior authorization.

What services don’t require approval in advance from a PCP?There are some services you can get on your own. That means you don’t need a referral from your PCP. You must get these Mercy Care RBHA services from providers in the Mercy Care RBHA network. These include:•

Routine women’s health care, such as breast exams, mammograms (X‑rays of the breast), Pap tests and pelvic exams

• Flu and pneumonia vaccinations (as long as you get them from a Mercy Care RBHA provider)

What if you have a medical emergency?Get medical help as quickly as possible. Call 911 for help. You can also go to the nearest emergency room or urgent care center. You don’t need to get prior approval. You don’t need to get a referral. You may get covered emergency medical care whenever you need it, anywhere in the United States. Ambulance services are covered in the United States when other means of transportation would endanger your health.

Getting non‑emergency care when traveling outside of the Mercy Care RBHA service areaIf you need non‑emergency care when you’re outside the service area, your health care coverage is limited. The only services we cover when you’re outside our service area are those for:•

Medical emergencies, including post‑stabilization care, urgently needed care

• Renal (kidney) dialysis• Care that Mercy Care RBHA or a provider has approved

in advance

Mobile and Telemedicine servicesMany clinics and community providers offer mobile medicine and telemedicine to help meet our members where they are. Ask your PCP or clinic if they offer mobile or telemedicine services. You can also find providers that offer telemedicine services in the “Telemedicine” section in this directory. Dispatch Health is also a Mercy Care provider. With Dispatch Health, instead of going to the ER, you can get urgent care in the comfort of your home. An ER‑trained medical team will come to your home in a few hours. You can stay home and focus on feeling better. To request care, call 480‑493‑3444, visit dispatchhealth.com or download their mobile app from the Google Play Store or Apple’s App Store.

Your rights to servicesYou and your family have the right to receive services that meet your needs. You have the right to receive them in a timely manner. If you experience any problems getting timely services, call Mercy Care RBHA Member Services at 602‑586‑1841 or 1‑800‑564‑5465; (TTY/TDD: 711). You can call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

You can also call Mercy Care RBHA if you have any concerns about the services you received.

What if you use non‑contracted providers to get covered services?“Non‑contracted providers” are providers that aren’t part of the Mercy Care RBHA network. If you use non‑contracted providers without getting prior approval from your PCP or Mercy Care RBHA, you may have to pay the full cost of the services. You must use network providers, except in emergency or urgent care situations or for out‑of‑area renal dialysis or other services.

If you get routine care from out‑of‑network providers, neither AHCCCS nor Mercy Care RBHA will be responsible for the costs.

What should you do if you get a bill from a non‑contracted provider that you think Mercy Care RBHA should pay?We cover certain health care services that you get from non‑contracted providers. These include care for a medical emergency, urgently needed care, renal (kidney) dialysis that you get when you’re outside the Mercy Care RBHA service area and care that has been approved in advance by Mercy Care RBHA.

If you get a bill for the services, don’t pay it. Send the bill to the address listed below for processing.

Peer support groups There are many support groups available. They’re sponsored by Mental Health Guild. The groups provide support and information to those diagnosed with a mental illness. They also offer education and socialization. The groups are facilitated by peers. Loved ones are welcome to come for support.
