Join CALS in the beautiful Allen Centennial Garden (rain location: Agricultural Hall, Room 116) for light refreshments and socializing. CALS faculty and staff members will be walking throughout the gardens talking with students and families about their UW–Madison experience. Families are encouraged to share their UW stories and ask questions about campus re-sources. In addition, the CALS Academic Affairs office will host a short program at 5 p.m. in the gardens (or rain location).

The College of Letters & Science invites you to learn more about the largest academic unit at UW–Madison. There will be a brief program featuring Associate Dean Eric Wilcots and information tables hosted by L&S Academic Advising and Career Services. The Science Arcade and Games Galore event is a hands-on science event that connects people of all ages to science, technology, engineering, math, and of course, the fun behind games! There will be vintage arcade games, Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, DIY cardboard games, multi-player games, place-based games, board games, and much more. Through-out the evening, three keynote presenters will speak in the DeLuca Forum about their involvement in the world of games and answer any burning questions.

Brought in for a third year, and especially for Family Weekend, Our Funny University features UW–Madison alumnus Dr. Andrew Bergman. He will share his story: from working on his dissertation at UW–Madison, titled We’re in the Money: Depression American and Its Films, to becoming a successful screenwriter. Bergman has written screenplays for The In-Laws, Fletch, and Soapdish, as well as written and directed Honeymoon in Vegas, It Could Happen to You, and So Fine.

Associate Professor Catalina Toma researches how people relate to one another when interacting via communication technologies (online dating, social network sites, blogs, etc.). Wisconsin Singers Performance**7:30 p.m.Mosse Humanities Building, Mills Concert Hall, 455 North Park Street

Featuring UW–Madison’s top singers, dancers, and instrumentalists, the Wisconsin Singers will entertain you with a spectacular revue of the past 40 years of American popular music. General Parking Information

FRIDAYCheck-in will occur at Gordon Dining and Event Center. Please be aware of lot entrance signs as a parking permit is required in most lots until 4:30 p.m.

SATURDAY Check-in and many daytime activities will occur at Gordon Dining and Event Center. Families can park their vehicles at the beginning of the day and use the free 80, 81, or 82 buses to access events across campus throughout the day and evening.

SUNDAYThe Musically Infused Brunch will occur at Union South.

Parking Options for Family WeekendCampus Lots: Parking is free after 4:30 p.m. Friday as well as all day Saturday and Sunday in the lots listed below. Free parking expires Monday morning at 7 a.m.

Lots 4, 16, 19, 26, 34, 35, 37, 39, 40, 41, 43, 45, 51, 54, 55, 56, 57, 58, 59, 60, 61, 62, 64, 82, and 86 have free parking availability. Please note that each campus parking lot has a sign at the entrance with the lot enforcement times and the lot number. You can find a map and information regarding these lots at map.wisc.edu.

Lot 46: On Saturday, staff from Transportation Services will be selling parking from 7 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Garage/Gated Parking Facilities for VisitorsThere are also garage/gated parking facilities located on campus for visitors. These lots charge hourly rates with a maximum of $12 per day. Downtown Madison LotsThe City of Madison also has a number of lots near campus. You can find a map of them at go.wisc.edu/k67165. We will have staff located at Lot 46 (corner of Lake Street and Johnson Street) to answer questions and help navigate parking.

Buses and Open House Trolley

Many Family Weekend activities are within a short walk of one another. The free campus buses— 80 and 84 (daytime), and 80, 81, and 82 (nighttime)—circulate throughout campus each day, allowing you to hop on and off near different events. Look for the blue bus stop signs around campus.

Open House Trolley Tour Route Saturday, October 221 p.m. – 4 p.m.

A free vintage trolley will circulate around campus to different open houses. UW–Madison tour guides will provide tours and interesting facts along the way as you hop on and off as you please. The trolley will make stops in front of Ogg Hall for the Career Kickstart Open House, the Memorial Union for Wheelhouse Studios: Getting Crafty, Ingraham Hall, the Allen Centennial Garden, and Steenbock Library.

Look for the trolley signs with Bucky on them at pick-up/drop-off locations. Trolleys will run approximately every 20 minutes.
