Business Showcase ‐ Oct. 21Small Business week is Oct. 16 ‐ 22. The Chamber's 4th Annual Business Showcase isFri. Oct. 21 at the Duncan Ramada. This year we welcome Island Savings as ourpresenting sponsor. There will be two morning seminars, followed by a Chamberluncheon with John Hankins of Nanaimo Economic Development presenting. We'veswitched up the setup this year: the exhibit tables will be located around theperimeter walls of the full ballroom, with the seminars and luncheon being held inthe same room. The Showcase will be open during the 1130 ‐ noon networking, andwill open again right after lunch...and we close the day with the After Party in theexhibit area. Exhibitor tables, including 1 luncheon ticket and attendance at bothseminars is $125 plus GST. We'll open registration in early September. It's Apple Pressing Season! Oct. 1The Apple Press is returning to the BC Forest Discovery Centre ‐ on Oct. 1. The event runs 9 am ‐ 4 pm. Provide yourapples for the press. Apples go in one end, and delicious, fresh juice, fully packaged comes out the other. Kids love it!Unopened packages last 6 months on the shelf, and even longer in the fridge. It's so tasty, you'll be hard pressed (haha) to make it last that long. There is a 100lb minimum ... so gather up neighbours, and don't let any apples go towaste ... bring them to the Apple Press at the BC Forest Discovery Centre on Sat. Oct. 1.
