Summary
3
• CMBG was first challenged to identify CM Performance Indicators in 2001

• CMBG Steering Committee developed first “strawman” set of indicators in 2004
The basis for the indicators was the CM Process Model

• A Working Group was established to formalize the indicators across the industry
• The Working Group presented its results at the 2005 CMBG conference
• The conclusion was that a uniform set of CM Performance Indicators was not realistic:
Too many site-specific cultural, management expectation and definition differences

CM Performance Indicators
Lessons Learned
• Developing a uniform set of CM metrics that utilities can use to benchmark themselves with the rest of the industry still seems elusive
• The latest survey continues to show a “scatter pattern” of responses with accompanying explanations and qualifiers that make a meaningful comparison difficult
