OF PHLEBOLOGY
CONFERENCE WRAP UP
133 Delegates

The initial feedback from the conference has been overwhelmingly
positive and we are vey pleased that all our sessions were so well
received. Thank you to our many invited speakers and to all the faculty
for preparing such many and varied talks. We hope you all left the
conference educated and inspired to advance Phlebology and achieve
the best outcomes for our patients.
Our planning for the next conference has already begun and in order
to provide the best and most relevant content for our delegates we
look forward to receiving your feedback by completing the survey,
which you can access via the link sent alongside this flyer.
Be sure to also click on the link in the mailout to view the photos from
our wonderful photographer Matthew Evans. He truly captured the
great vibes that made this event such a wonderful success.
We will keep you posted on the next location and dates and hope to
see you in 2020!

HANDS ON TRAINING SESSION
The Hands on Training Sessions were once
again hugely popular during the
conference. We had seven companies/
stations in operation over three hours with
delegates spending 20 minutes at
each. We saw some great new products,
valuable techniques and excellent faculty
spending quality time with the delegates,
providing a valuable learning experience
for those attending.
REFRESHER & ULTRASOUND
The attendance for the Phlebology
Refresher Course was outstanding.
Trainees and Fellows enjoyed refreshing
their knowledge of all things Phlebology in
the morning, with several of the College’s
online modules presented by the module
instructors. The training course will
become a frequent feature of all our
conferences, allowing all online modules to
be presented over a 3-year cycle. We
received great feedback from our
Phlebology Ultrasound Course, where
attendees had the chance for some hands
on ultrasound scanning. Thanks to Dan
from Philips for assisting on the day, as
well as our sonographers Yana, Rylee and
Rena. Lastly, thank you to our forgiving
patients who allowed themselves to be
poked and prodded.

WELCOME RECEPTION
CEREMONY & GALA DINNER
We were delighted to have Medi Australia
sponsor our beautiful, tropical Welcome
Reception. The weather held out and we
had a stunning evening. The drinks flowed,
the interactive food stations were a big hit,
the duo were amazing and Felix the Fire
Dancer entertained the crowd. What a
perfect way to start the conference in
Cairns.
The Ceremony and gala dinner is always a
fabulous evening and was this year
sponsored by the Sigvaris Group. We were
delighted to have the Cairns RSL
Bagpipers lead the Academic Procession
in to the ceremony. Congratulations to all
the recipients on their achievements. After
the formalities, the evening got into full
swing with the dance floor on fire all night,
thanks to the amazing and talented Tony
George Band. Oscar the Octopus took the
central position on the dance floor and
tables were adorned with underwater
coral, helmets and candles, giving the full
20,000 leagues under the sea feel.
On behalf of the organising
committee we hope you had a
fabulous time. We enjoyed every
minute and look forward to seeing
you all next year!
