KM Conference 2019 26 - 29 June 2019, Warsaw, Poland Themes: Knowledge Management, Learning, Information Technology http://www.iiakm.org/conference/ Conference Workshop Knowledge Sharing: Together We Can Do it Better Dr. Boštjan Delak Assistant Professor, Faculty of Information Studies, Novo Mesto, Slovenia Workshop Overview: The workshop will focus on effective complex problem-solving that requires knowledge sharing among team members, and includes two parts: team building and knowledge sharing. The first part will serve as a warm up for the teams, which will include some hands-on collaborative and dynamic team building exercise. Then, the second part of the workshop will allow each group of participants to work as a dymanic team to demonstrate their knowledge, skills, and experiences. The main issues at both parts of the workshop will be a quick and effective analysis of the situation, while working as a dymanic team to set up the plan on how to solve the problems presented to the team. Knowledge sharing and communication among all team members will be vital for the success of the team. This workshop will allow the participants to engage with a group to achieve both parts, while bonding long-term relationships. In order to be successful, participants will need to use a variety of communication skills that will allow them to collaborate and be an effective team member. The workshop will also offer an opportunity for participants to reflect on the success of their group’s communication and knowledge sharing channels. At the conclusion, insights, based on the experiences gained by the teams will be discussed. Main Topics: Analysis of the situation Knowledge sharing within a team Collaboration and teamwork Reflective analysis on team building activities About the Workshop Facilitator: Boštjan Delak is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Information studies, in Novo mesto, Slovenia, where he teaches: Evaluation, Testing and Auditing of Information systems and Basics of Information Security. He has been sharing his knowledge with students for more than six years. He is an active certified information system auditor. He is employed as information system auditor at the Court of Audit of the Republic of Slovenia. He has more than 37 years of experience within information systems. He obtained his Ph.D. in Information Systems from the Faculty of Computer and Information Science, University of Ljubljana, Slovenia. He has also earned his Master of Science and Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Ljubljana, Slovenia. He gained his experience of information systems at IBM Slovenia, NLB – Slovenian biggest bank, and at the ITAD, a private information audit company. He conducted more than 80 information system due diligences and more than 100 information system audits. His fields of interest are: information system due diligence, information system analysis, and knowledge management.
