Thisyear,ourthemeis“CreaEvityontheMove”.TheascendancyofmobilecompuEngisadefiningcharacterisEcofcomputertechnologyoverthelastdecade.TheincreasingpoweranddecreasingsizeofmobilecompuEngplaJormshascreatednewopportuniEesforteachers,arEsts,performers,developers,gamersandpeopleinalmosteveryotherwalkoflife,allowingthemtodiscover,create,explore,andshareexperiencesinnewways.ForCreateWorld2017wewanttotakeacloserlookathowmobiledevicesempowerus,toexplorethewaysinwhichweinteractwiththem,andconsiderwhat’soverthehorizon..

Soundhasaprofoundabilitytomakeusfeelpresentandconnectedtooursurroundingenvironment.RecentyearshaveseenaproliferaEonofsite-specificaudioworksexploringthepossibiliEesofmobiletechnologiesandlocaEvemediainplace.Thismeansatanygivenmomentinanurbanenvironment,wecouldbemovingthroughasoundfieldofvoices,music,memoriesandsonicartdispersedinvisiblythroughouttheplaceswithinhabit.WhilethismaterialisavailableonlytothosewithmobiledevicesandknowledgeofthelocaEveexperiences,theadvancementofnewtechnologiesandtheaccessibilityofmobiledevicesmeansthisfieldpresentsnewopportuniEesforexploringoursocial,culturalandecologicalenvironmentsthroughsound.
