National Curriculum

Our programmes are linked to Key Stages 2, 3 and 4 of the National Curriculum, our standard midweek Action & Adventure programme offers the opportunity to cover aspects of:

We adhere strictly to the Activities Centre Advisory Committee (ACAC) Code of Practice

We operate strictly within the Code of Practice laid down by the British Activities Holiday Association (BAHA) of which we are full members

We are corporate members of the Institute for Outdoor Learning (IOL)

We are affiliated to the NAHT and our Operations Director is a full member of the Association of Heads of Outdoor Education Centres (AHOEC)

Our instructorsAll JCA instructors are required to:• Attend an interview prior to employment - criteria for selection includes suitability to work with children, enthusiasm and friendliness • Provide two referees • Undergo a rigorous assessment / training programme• Submit an Enhanced Disclosure to the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB)

We train our instructors in National Governing Body (NGB) Qualification:

• England Fencing Organisation • British Orienteering Federation

All staff hold the HSE recognised Appointed Persons First Aid qualification and Senior Staff hold the First Aid at Work Certificate.

Climbing and Abseiling technique is instructed by SPA Assessed instructors and assessed by one of the UK’s leading climbing trainers/assessors (MIC qualified).

Condover Hall

Location

Built in 1586 Condover is a grade 1 Elizabethan Mansion. Set in 78 acres of fantastic country side and gardens your students will experience history, beautiful countryside and state of the art activities during their stay.

The village of Condover is set in the splendid Shropshire countryside and conveniently situated close to the M54, providing quick and easy access to the M6 and M5.

The market town Shrewsbury is just 10 miles away.

Condover accommodation is in 8 different accommodation blocks comprising of single story, double story and triple story. Dormitory accommodation ranges from 2 – 10 beds per dorm. Teacher rooms come in twin or single bedded rooms with en-suite bathrooms.

Dates and Cost

The 2014 trip takes place Mon 10th-Fri 14th February.

Once again, we have managed to negotiate a discount and have managed to price match the 2013 Manor Adventure for Condover 2014.

Total cost for the trip is £215, which includes all activities, full board meals, transport, en-suite accommodation and a travel insurance policy.

Likely payment schedule will be:

1st payment (deposit) of £20 by end of June

2nd payment of £100 by end of September

3rd payment of £95 by end of November

If you wish to make smaller, more regular payments, that’s fine. If your child is eligible for Free School Meals the total cost of the trip can be paid from their Pupil Premium allocation.
