Dear Parents and Students, Welcome back to school! The summer went by very quickly; however, we are glad to have everyone back in the classroom. Concord has 14 new students and families and 1 new teacher we would like to welcome. Thanks to everyone who attended Meet the Teacher Night. It was a great night to meet all the Concord Staff and see the curriculum your students will be using this year. Our Block Party is scheduled for Tuesday, September 11 from 5:30-7:30. This is a wonderful way to meet other families in a casual environment. Check your email for a flyer from the PTO. Look for Concord Happenings, (emailed every Wednesday), for information about weekly activities. We are looking forward to another wonderful school year. Nan Miller Executive Director

Yearbook Signing Party

This year’s Yearbook Signing Party was a lot of fun. The

students and staff all gathered in the gym to sign each other’s

yearbooks. We even had some familiar faces of former

students. It was great to see everyone!

New Chemistry Equipment

The high school students enjoyed getting to use the new

chemistry equipment purchased by SCS. Thank you SCS for

Physical Science Class

The students are studying the different states and properties of matter. They are creating a variety

of activities to go into their interactive notebooks. Currently, the students are distinguishing the

differences between solids, liquids and gases.

Mullins Church Welcomes Back Students

Concord wants to say thank you to Mullins Church for the nice, warm welcome back

to school. We really appreciated it!

7th Grade Science

The students are studying The Dynamic Earth. They are creating interactive notebooks to go along

with the lessons in the book. Currently, the students are creating models of the layers of the earth.

7th Grade Science

Kathleen Waters:

1. I have a BSE in chemical engineering from Princeton University and an MAT from the University of Memphis (Memphis State at the time).

2. I do not have a favorite sports team but my family likes the Green Bay Packers and the University of Memphis.

3. I enjoyed a trip to Germany, the Netherlands, and Paris, France that my husband and I took years ago.

4. I was born and raised in Plainfield, NJ, in a family with 3 brothers and 5 sisters.
