GIST OF THE EVENT: Considering the need to harness the technical expertise of students and give shape to their creativity, AMC Engineering College, Department of Computer Science and Engineering organized 5th International Conference on Pervasive Computing and Networking, Inaugural function of Computer Society of India (CSI) Student branch and National Level Project Exhibition (Innovation World)-2017 in the college premises on April 20th & 21st 2017 Conference proceeding was released by Mr. Sundar K S, Associate Vice President, , Infosys, Mysuru Dr. Anirban Basu, President CSI 2016-2017, Professor-APS College of Engineering and Consultant, ingaurated “Computer Society of India-CSI Student Branch AMCEC”, . All dignitaries inaugurated the Project Exhibition. Dr. Anirban Basu in his inaugural address congratulated the CSI Student Branch Members led by Dr G G Sivasankari, Professor and Head, CSE and Prof. Ananthanagu, Student Branch Counsellor SBC, AMCEC. Dr. Anirban Basu deliberated on the support that CSI is planning to give the student branches in organizing more such activities to the student community. Mr. Sundar K S, Associate Vice President, Senior Lead Principal, Global Education Center, Infosys Limited, Mysuru and he was delivered the keynote on Current Trends in IT and our preparedness and made his gracious presence and presented inaugural address. The Presidential addressing by Dr. T N Sreenivasa, Principal, AMCEC, and Welcome address by Dr. G G Sivasankari, HOD,CSE, AMCEC, Bangalore on 20th April 2017. More than 300 students from different colleges of Karnataka participated in the competitions The conference was supported by organizations like CSI, and Jio Digital Partners, etc.

Chapter: BANGALORE STUDENT BRANCH NAME: AMC ENGINEERING COLLEGE REGION – V EVENT TITLE: Seminar on Web and Mobile App development EVENT DATE: 19th May 2017 SPEAKER DETAILS: Mr. Saurav Kumar,Prinston Engineering, NewDelhi. GIST OF THE EVENT:

• Considering the need to harness the technical expertise of students and give shape to their creativity, AMC Engineering College, Department of Computer Science and Engineering organized Seminar on Web and Mobile App development

• This seminar discusses the software development lifecycle with respect to mobile applications, and discusses some of the considerations required when building mobile projects. For developers wishing to just jump right in and start building, this guide can be skipped and read later for a more complete understanding of mobile development.

• 100 students participated in this seminar

Chapter: BANGALORE STUDENT BRANCH NAME: AMC ENGINEERING COLLEGE REGION – V EVENT TITLE: Workshop on Ethical Hacking and Cyber Security EVENT DATE: 17th to 18th August 2017 SPEAKER DETAILS:

Mr. Samarth Bhat, President-Indian Cyber Army GIST OF THE EVENT:

• Considering the need to harness the technical expertise of students and give shape to their creativity, AMC Engineering College, Department of Computer Science and Engineering organized workshop on Ethical Hacking and Cyber Security

• This workshop provided the knowledge to the aspiring Hacking and Cyber Security enthusiasts. It explored the various means that an intruder has available to gain access to computer resources.

• It discussed the theoretical background behind, and whenever possible, the attack was demonstrated.

• 60 students participated in this workshop

• Dr. G G Sivasankari in her inaugural address congratulated the CSI Student Branch Members led by Prof. Ananthanagu U, Student Branch Counsellor SBC, AMCEC and the Workshop coordinator Prof. Srivdhya V R for organizing the Workshop and also all the faculty coordinators

Mr. Saurav, Technical Expert, Prinston Smart Engineers GIST OF THE EVENT:

• Considering the need to harness the technical expertise of students and give shape to their creativity, AMC Engineering College, Department of Computer Science and Engineering organized workshop on Web and UI Development

• It enabled the students to get a practical experience on Web development and User Interface development.

• This was useful for them to develop Web based Mini-Projects. Basics like HTML and Jquery were also taught to enable them to understand the topic in a better way.

• 55 students participated in this workshop.

Chapter: BANGALORE STUDENT BRANCH NAME: AMC ENGINEERING COLLEGE REGION – V EVENT TITLE: Workshop on Big Data EVENT DATE: 11th to 13th September 2017 SPEAKER DETAILS: Mr. Rakesh Khandelwal, TechNinzaaz GIST OF THE EVENT:

• Considering the need to harness the technical expertise of students and give shape to their creativity, AMC Engineering College, Department of Computer Science and Engineering organized workshop on Big Data

• This Workshop gave an introduction to Big Data and Hadoop Architecture. It highlighted the use of Map Reduce which is an effective programming model for processing big data sets effectively. Also hands on live demonstration in Hadoop Cluster was given.

• It has enabled the students to develop projects on their own.

• 50 students participated in this workshop

Chapter: BANGALORE STUDENT BRANCH NAME: AMC ENGINEERING COLLEGE REGION – V EVENT TITLE: Faculty Development Program on Data Mining-Hands-on On Data Analytics Tools EVENT DATE: 23rd to 25th January 2018 SPEAKER DETAILS: Ms. Shamini, Technical Lead, Cisco on RapidMIner Dr. Sejal, Associate Professor, BNMIT on Python/Latex GIST OF THE EVENT:

• Considering the need to harness the technical expertise of students and give shape to their creativity, AMC Engineering College, Department of Computer Science and Engineering organized FDP

• This FDP introduced to the participants the most recent developments in the field of data analytics and to equip the participants with basic skills in using data analytics tools like RapidMiner and Python.

• It also had an add on session LaTex. Faculty from other colleges also participated in this FDP apart from staff from other branches at AMCEC.

• 55 members were participated.

• Dr. Srineevasa, Principal, AMCEC in his inaugural address congratulated the CSI Student Branch Members led by Dr. Latha C A, Prof. and Head, Dept of CSE and Prof. Ananthanagu U, SBC, FDP coordinator, Prof. Asha Manek, Associate Prof. and Prof Srivdhya V R for organizing the FDP and also all the faculty coordinators. He also welcomes all other faculties from various institutions across the Karnataka.

Chapter: BANGALORE STUDENT BRANCH NAME: AMC ENGINEERING COLLEGE REGION – V EVENT TITLE: Workshop on ARM7 Processor EVENT DATE: 22rd to 23rd March 2018 SPEAKER DETAILS: Mr. Sanjay Kumar Bhagat, Applications Engineer, Jyoti Embedded Labs GIST OF THE EVENT:

• Considering the need to harness the technical expertise of students and give shape to their creativity, AMC Engineering College, Department of Computer Science and Engineering organized workshop on ARM7 Processor

• ARM7 Processors are optimized for cost and power-sensitive consumer applications.

• Workshop was used as a platform for introducing concepts required for Microprocessor theory and Lab that is a part of IV Sem CSE syllabus. Students were very inquisitive to explore the hardware side as they are generally introduced only to the Software based Workshops

• Around 30 members from 4th Semester participated

• DIY kits were provided for a team of 2. With these interactive learning strategies, participants were left with an abundance of creative ideas, which could be implement immediately.

Chapter: BANGALORE STUDENT BRANCH NAME: AMC ENGINEERING COLLEGE REGION – V EVENT TITLE: Profile Building for Higher studies by BYJU’s EVENT DATE: 12th April 2018. SPEAKER DETAILS: Mr. Swaroop, Training Head, BYJU’s GIST OF THE EVENT:

• Considering the need to harness the technical expertise of students and give shape to their creativity, AMC Engineering College, Department of Computer Science and Engineering organized Seminar on Profile Building for Higher studies

• Seminar was useful for Profile Building for higher studies and highlighted different avenue and opportunities for 6 sem Students of CSE,ISE and ECE.

• Around 120 members were participated • Dr. Latha C A, Prof. and Head, Dept of CSE congratulated Prof. Doddegowda for and Prof.

Ananthanagu U-SBC, Co ordinator-Prof. Srividhya V R for organizing the Seminar and also all the faculty.
