State Bicycle Co. is an innovative manufacturer, distributor and retailer of fixed-gear and single-speed bicycles based in Tempe, Arizona. Founded in 2009, State Bicycle Co. sought to introduce premiere quality and aesthetically striking bikes to the fixed-gear bicycle market at a price-point that was not cost-pro-hibitive to new riders. By o�ering a great value propo-sition, paired with unique limited-edition production, State Bicycle Co. has gained tremendous popularity and has become a leader in the urban cycling market; expanding on our original line of fixed-gear bikes with a diverse o�ering of premium fixed-gear bikes, track bikes, city bikes, cycling apparel, lifestyle accessories as well as launching an O�-Road Bicycle Division.

State Bicycle Co. has built strong brand recognition through grassroots community involvement. Ask anyone who knows us: we are passionate about bikes. State Bicycle Co. hosts weekly rides across the country, organizes races, sponsors talented riders both domestically and internationally, and partners with cycling advocacy groups. Additionally, our online community continues to expand and is amongst the largest in all of cycling. In fact, State Bicycle Co.’s comprehensive and innovative social e�orts have been the subject of numerous case studies. Lastly, our exclusive collaborations with lifestyle brands such

as The Hundreds, influential recording artists such as the Wu-Tang Clan, and product placements in major motion pictures have allowed the company to transcend “bike culture” and have made State Bicycle Co. a recognizable lifestyle brand.

In less than 5 years, State Bicycle Co. employs over 30 talented individuals. Our products are sold facto-ry-direct and shipped globally to over 50 countries worldwide through sophisticated online channels. Additionally, we are stocked and sold in over 350 independent bicycle retailers throughout the world. State Bicycle Co. is the sole-distributor of our prod-ucts throughout the United Kingdom and Europe through its UK/EU website and fulfillment center in London. In terms of worldwide reach, State Bicycle Co. has distribution agreements in South Korea, Canada, Mexico, Australia, Norway, the UAE, and the Philippines. Through an acquisition in 2012, State Bicycle Co. also owns and operates VeloVie Bicycles, a manufacturer and direct-to-consumer online retailer of high-end road bicycles. In early 2014, State Bicycle Co. launched Essor USA, a direct retailer/wholesaler of state-of-the-art high performance cycling compo-nents, accessories and apparel. Essor USA perfectly compliments both the State Bicycle Co. and VeloVie brands.

Since inception in 2009, State Bicycle Co. has demonstrated its prowess to facilitate growth. This can be best seen through the continual growth of its brand’s online presence. Key drivers of this success are the ever-adapting online marketing e�orts behind the website including robust branded and non-branded PPC campaigns, Display advertising which includes a full-funnel approach spanning from prospecting, retargeting, and product-centric retargeting on targeted websites, social media sites, and key banner a�liates within our category. This display strategy not only promotes web-tra�c but bolsters brand strength and consumer confidence.

Social media channels continue to be one of State Bicycle Co.’s core competencies. The company has

amassed a following of over 500,000 users on Facebook and simultaneously grown the VeloVie brand to over 50,000 followers. Understanding the importance of being on the forefront of emerging social trends, State Bicycle Co. has established an Instagram following of over 63,000, which rivals and exceeds many major brands in the cycling industry. Over 50,000 user-generated photos have been shared already via the #statebicycleco and #exploreyourstate™ hashtags. Additionally, several thousand followers keep up with State Bicycle Co. daily through other social media channels such as Twitter, Snapchat, Tumblr and Vine. Staying active and up with the current trends on social media is important. After all, the brand’s key demographic is predominately under 25 years old.

On the business side, State Bicycle Co. is lauded for creative marketing, product design, and innovative engagement between the brand and its audience. State Bicycle Co. was been the focus of both a Facebook and Amazon “Success Story” case studies. Co-Founders and entrepreneurs, Mehdi Farsi, Reza Farsi and Eric Ferguson’s story has been highlighted by national-level media such as USA Today , countless local publications, as well as referenced in the 2014 novel, Dream Year.

In the cycling world State Bicycle Co. has managed to propel itself to the forefront of the fixed-gear market and beyond in just 5 short years. State Bicycle Co. has been featured in all fixed-gear related publications and media with dozens of product reviews, brand highlights, and features on our inter-nationally-recognized race team. Our videos are routinely shared between the most popular and influential blogs amassing well over 1,000,000 views collectively. Additionally, well-respected publications such as Pez Cycling News, Road Bike Review, and Bicycle Radar, which serve a larger and more general segment of the cycling population, keep a steady stream of publicity going for State Bicycle Co., VeloVie Bicycles, and Essor USA.

There is no doubt that the company culture of State Bicycle Co. has permeated the fixed-gear crowd and made its way into the “mainstream”. From our t-shirts being worn by the likes of Gwenyth Paltrow in the motion picture Thanks For Sharing to our bikes featured in Subaru and Samsung Galaxy commer-cials, it is clear to see the brand has wide-spread appeal and potential. SENIOR MANAGEMENT

MEHDI FARSIChief Brand O�cer / Co-Founder

Mehdi Farsi is the visionary behind State Bicycle Co’s products and designs as well as the driving force of the company’s marketing and large social media presence. In charge of the company's image, Mehdi’s primary responsibilities include: branding, product development, marketing, website design, and collaborations / co-branding. Mehdi enjoys creating a productive and engaging work environment and often organizes company events and races along with managing the State Bicycle Co. internationally-known cycling team. Mehdi graduated from Arizona State University’s Barrett Honors College and W.P. Carey School of Business with a degree in Marketing. His previous jobs range from working at large dot-com company to founding a $1m+ grossing online furniture business at the age of 22; all of which are foundational to his success at State Bicycle Co.

ERIC FERGUSONPresident / Co-Founder

Eric Ferguson, 29, graduated from Arizona State University’s W.P. Carey School of Business in December 2008 with a major in Marketing and minor in Writing. His career prior to co-founding State Bicycle Co. included sales, e-commerce, hospitality, and retail. Ferguson’s primary responsibilities include financial management, management of wholesale and distribution departments, company-wide sales initiatives/-goals, sales training, directional strategies, budgeting, and cash-flow management, but more generally, maintaining and increasing the overall health of the company.

REZA FARSICEO / Co-Founder

Reza Farsi, 28, graduated from Arizona State University’s W.P. Carey School of Business in Fall of 2007 with a major in Management. Prior to co-founding State Bicycle Co., Farsi’s career included experience in mid-level manage-ment and financial + investment services. Farsi has many responsibilities in the company, all of which flourish from his strong background and education in management. Those responsibili-ties include supply chain, Logistics Department (sta�) management, operations, training and hiring, inventory control, corporate operating procedures, logistic relationship management (UPS, Fedex, etc), and more.

HOMAY FARSIChief Strategy O�cer / Co-Founder

Homay Farsi is a self-motivated professional with over 25 years of technology, entrepreneurial and business management experience in corporate environments with consistent over-achievement. Impeccable knowledge of program analysis processes, needs assessment, strategic planning, team management . Farsi is the original Founder of VeloVie Bicycles, high-end racing bicycles implementing a new concept of selling directly to the consumers, teams and clubs using technology and online marketing while assuming full responsibility for the vision of company. Prior to that Mr. Farsi was Co-Chairman – President of Improvenet.com and managed a publicly traded online dot-com company while overseeing technology, online marketing, and P&L initiatives, as well as success-fully sold to Interactive Commerce (IAC). Farsi has a Masters degree from University of Salford in Manchester, England.

ADAM MAYOWholesale Dept. Manager

Adam Mayo is the Manager of the Wholesale Department. Mayo has been with the company since 2011, having previously worked in sales and customer service in the education industry. Mayo has been an integral part of organizing and growing the Wholesale Depart-ment since taking the internal promotion in late 2012, growing the department to roughly 250 accounts. He currently manages the Wholesale sta�, as well as implementing its marketing initiatives, contracts, strategies, sales regions, new-product sale launches, sales goals, dealer educational material, trade-shows, and A/R.

NEILL SOMERVILLE3rd-Party Platform Manager

Neill Somerville is the 3rd Party Platform Manger, which allows State Bicycle Co. to sell its products to various platforms including Amazon.com, eBay.com, Promotive.com, and even sells directly to Amazon.com’s b2b platforms in the USA, Canada, and United Kingdom (coming soon). Somerville has streamlined this division by introducing compa-ny-wide SKU systems, live-invento-ry to these 3rd party partners, and by creating copious product listings through software that allows the company to sell through numerous 3rd party platforms (and introduce new products as they are introduced) almost instantly. Somerville has been with the company since 2012, having spent his entire career beforehand in a similar role with a major musical component manufacturer.

JAMIL NASERDirector of Marketing

Jamil Naser, 31, came into the Director role at State Bicycle Co. in October 2014. His education and professional experience is in Marketing Strategy and Coordina-tion. Having worked in corporate marketing roles in industries such as Education and Health Insurance, Jamil has come into his own at State Bicycle Co; helping to sophisticate the brand's marketing campaigns while augmenting brand awareness. With a commitment to thoroughly executing marketing strategy, Jamil is playing a critical role in driving revenueto statebicy-cle.com through managing paid advertising campaigns, devising meaningful content, and executing on-site e-commerce optimization.

CLAY MAXEYDesign Director

Clay Maxey, 23, graduated from The Design School at Arizona State University in 2014, and began working full-time at State Bicycle Co. shortly thereafter. Years of experience in design have allowed him to develop a keen eye for visual communication and branding. Clay designed, developed, and currently maintains the main website, keeping it in line with current web design and e-commerce trends. In today’s online market, design can make or break a company, and Clay approaches every design challenge carefully with the user‘s experience in mind. His overall goal at State is to elevate the brands’ image through marketing, design, and new product development.

State Bicycle Co. o�ers a wide variety of branded apparel ranging from t-shirts and hats to full-cycling kits that have been featured in magazines, blogs, tv shows and major motion pictures. Our apparel lines only add to the ability of State Bicycle Co. to create a full “lifestyle” experience centered around the brand. Our most recent addition ito our growing apparel line is the “Rider Signature Series”. Each month, a signature jersey and bottle designed closely and inspired by a State Bicycle Co. sponsored team rider is released. This exclusive line of apparel and gear follows our model of releasing limited edition o�erings; as popularized by our line of fixed gear bikes. Once a run is sold out, it is “retired”. This model also helps feed our new Monthly Subscription. Customers can elect to automatically purchase each month’s clothing and bottle jersey at a reduced price by signing up for a monthly subscription in order to secure the jerseys and bottles that are sure to sell out.
