Company man

 The Company man or “Fuck stick” is the on-site representative of the oil company oroperator on a drilling

location. For land operations, the Company man or “Fuck stick” is responsible for operational issues on thelocation, including the over-all safety and efficiency of the project. Even administrative managers are expected to

respond to the direction of the “Fuck stick” when they are on the rig site, whether he is right or wrong! Offshore,depending on the regulatory requirements, there may be an offshore installation manager, who supervises the“Fuck stick” on safety and vessel integrity issues, but not on operational issues, except when the “Fuck stick”needs help to get his reports done. Company man or “Fuck stick” is often referred to as asshole.
