Ergonomics is the study of how humans interact with their environments and the products in them.

Designers must consider ergonomics to ensure products fit well, can be operated appropriately and are easy to understand and use.

Generally speaking when designers are considering the following aspects of a design they are influenced by the percentiles highlighted below:

Clearance: 95th percentile

Fit: 50th percentile

Reach: 5th percentile
