COMMUNITY BRAND STORY & USAGE GUIDE

INTRODUCTION

In April of 2015, the Columbus Area Chamber of Commerce identified the need for a community brand to better highlight our strengths, share our story and attract hard-working, skilled individuals and families to the Columbus area. By leveraging our new community brand - Something Good - we can effectively communicate who we are, what we have to offer and why people looking for “the good life” should choose us.

We hope you’ll join us in sharing our story - through your organization, in our community, throughout Platte County and beyond. The Columbus area is rich in opportunity, and it’s time for us to spread the word!

Why a Community Brand?

Why now?

BRAND STORY

This is a place where the Good Life still exists. Where we personally know our mayor and postman, and will likely bump into them at the grocery store later. Where a drive across town takes just a few minutes. Where we rest easy knowing we’re raising our families in a safe environment with good values. But we don’t just sit on the front porch drinking lemonade all day. We’ve got work to do, things to build and problems to solve. From creating products to be shipped around the world, to providing services that save lives, every day we rise early to complete an honest day’s work. Life in Columbus may not be flashy, but it’s darn good. Jobs are abundant, quality of life is high, and the people – the fabric of this community – are as authentic as you’ll find anywhere. Here, we support one another – our kids, our community, our businesses and our hometown teams. Here, we’re onto something good.

Something Good is a celebration of the GOOD things that make our community so GREAT.

Dine out. Make a splash. Tee off. Cheer on the home team. From our local microbrewery to our historic tavern, our state-of-the-art water park to the Platte River, live horseracing to live music in the town square, we have a little bit of everything and a lot of local flavor. Here, you can experience something good.

The following are examples of messages that support our brand.

Get involved. Make a difference. Leave your mark. Whether it’s volunteering, coaching, mentoring or contributing financially, this is a community that gives. You, too, can jump right in, lend a hand and lead the change you want to see. Here, you can do something good.

From small, family-owned businesses to large, international corporations and everything in between, our people feed, house, develop and improve. They don’t call us the most industrialized city in the state for nothing. Here, you can create something good.

Careers, Economic Development

Plant your feet. Dig in. Take root. Our community is just right in so many ways. It’s not too big and not too small. If you’re looking to buy your first home, cultivate lifelong friendships or start a family, look no further. Here, you can establish something good.
