Watch the diocesan news-magazine program “Real to Reel” on Saturday, March 28 at 7 p.m. for a special salute to the Sisters of St. Joseph as they mark the
125th anniversary here in western Massachusetts. This special edition program will take a look back at the history of the religious congregation as well as the many ways they have ministered and continue to min-ister to the people in the Diocese of Springfield. “Real to Reel” airs each Saturday evening at 7 p.m. locally on 22News, WWLP Springfield and is funded in part by the Annual Catholic Appeal.
Heart of Darkness, Joseph Conrad Joseph Conrad's novella deals with the issues of colonialism, human depravity and madness, it is a book that demands to be read and re-read closely. Loosely based on Conrad’s first-hand experience of rescuing a company agent from a remote station in the heart of the
Congo, the novel is considered a literary bridge between the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. With its modern literary approach to questions such as the ambiguous na-ture of good and evil, the novel foreshadows many of the themes and techniques that define modern literature.
