Pico Awarded Contract of Exhibition Design and Construction for the Yeosu Expo Marine Life Pavilion at Expo 2012
Backed by more than a century’s expertise,
Keppel Shipyard is a world leader in ship repair,
conversion and construction.
Pico was recently commissioned to design, build
and project manage the 270 sq. m. Keppel
Safety Training Centre. Services rendered by Pico
included IT & AV, fabrication, programming and
installation.
Our designers subsequently created a purpose-
built space that enabled Keppel Shipyard to
integrate safety learning courses as well as
introduce the organisation, its values and future
directions to corporate guests. The space also
doubles as a showcase/gallery which holistically
conceptualises and immerses visitors in a physical
re-creation of a working shipyard.
The gallery is ultimately a place where trainers and
trainees embark on an interactive experience in
applying their skills within actual working
environments. At the same time, it is designed
to welcome corporate visitors and provide
a brief understanding of Keppel Shipyard’s
Keppel Safety Training Centre
culture, values and business directions. This is achieved through an array of exhibits and activities
that provide guests with a rich and meaningful learning experience.
“We would like to commend the Pico team for their professionalism, dedication and commitment
throughout the course of this project. It was a great pleasure and experience working with the
Pico team. We look forward to partnering your organisation again in the near future.” – Mr. David
Low, Assistant General Manager, Group Training, Keppel Shipyard

Being Singapore’s infocomm industry champion, the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore
(IDA) works hard to develop a vibrant infocomm ecosystem comprising local enterprises, leading
multinationals, innovative technopreneurs and start-ups.
Recently launched by IDA, the Infocomm Experience Centre aims to showcase possibilities and benefits
of Next Generation (Next Gen) services to the public and businesses through 4 major thematic zones
- Live, Work, Learn & Interact. The key challenge lies in the need to dramatise the difference between
pre- and post-fibre optic high speed broadband. Most of the environmental settings take the form of
modular cubes with interchangeable panels that can be shaped into tables and chairs and vice versa so
as to emphasise the versatility of using high-speed broadband in all aspects of our daily lives.
Pico was appointed to design, build and project manage the centre as well as provide support on IT,
AV, programming and installation.

A world leader in cut crystal for the fashion,
accessory and interior design industries,
Swarovski has been using Pico “Red and Blue
concepts” globally since 2009. Earlier this year,
we also implemented an inaugural “Swarovski
Crystal Forest Theme” in India, providing a
complete solution for retail shops in Chennai
Express Mall and Mumbai Palladium.
Regionally, Swarovski AG recently also
appointed Pico to design, build and provide
signage for its booth at Singapore’s
TFWA Exhibition.

Bombay Sapphire Infusion Unit for Auckland Airport Duty Free Store
Always striving to remain fresh within its highly
competitive market, high-end gin Bombay
Sapphire recently commissioned Pico to realise
a sensory experience wall bay concept. The
project involved co-ordinating clients in Hong
Kong, Australia and New Zealand and a UK
based design house. Working with initial
concept elevations, our team produced 3D
visuals and production drawings, also handling
the sourcing of components, production and
installation. Now operational at Auckland
Airport, the new display is the first in a series of
worldwide installations.

Mercedes-Benz Star Mobile
BMW 4S ShopA joint venture between the BMW Group and Brilliance China Automotive Holdings Limited (CBA),
BMW Brilliance handles BMW production and sales in China.
Pico is just one of two BMW-appointed suppliers in China who can accept BMW 4S shop orders
to produce, install and post-maintain BMW parts and mold new display racks. In doing so, BMW
Brilliance leverages advanced designs and production materials such as ultra-white glass, mold
machining production to create exclusive products with high-end imagery.
The partnership is a vital first step in enabling Pico to open up new markets in the automotive and
other industries.

Our modular Star Mobile showroom’s elegant
interior serves as a customer lounge, sales work
station, pantry, information counter, library
and outdoor cafeteria all in one. Best of all,
its illumination looks remarkably permanent,
capturing customers’ attention even when the
unit is travelling through the night.
In delighting Mercedes-Benz’s target customers,
precise timing and routings were of paramount
importance. As were the delicately developed,
Mercedes-Benz-branded design packages that
were given away to potential purchasers. With
flyers, invitation cards and follow-up calls all
enhancing people’s desire to buy, the road-
shows were a great success!
A guerilla store that could pop up near any
high-end mall or restaurant, the Star Mobile
schedule was supported by radio spots. Residents
of upper class suburbs and executives in
central business districts were other targets
who experienced the roadshow’s extraordinary
fascination.
“Perfectly symbolising Mercedes-Benz’ luxury
and prestige, this mobile unit delivered results
way beyond our and our visitors’ expectations”,
said one Mercedes-Benz representative.
“After Star Mobile, road shows will never be
the same. Customers will want to see, feel and
experience more” said another.

Spring 2010 was the first time the prestigious
Global Travel & Tourism Summit (GTTS) worldwide
conference was held in China. China’s Government
ranked the event just below the 2008 Olympic
Games in terms of priority.
A key exhibitor, Beijing Tourism Group’s (BTG’s)
is China’s first provincial-level, wholly state-
owned tourism enterprise. To build its image
internationally, Pico was appointed to build and
project manage BTG’s multimedia exhibition
area. The ultimate aim was to integrate all of
BTG’s brands and assets and improve its core
competitiveness.

Now in its 10th year, Nokia Connection is an
annual media launch where the global handset
leader showcases its latest solutions and
introduces new devices. The theme for the
2010 event was ‘Your Life. Connected.’ and
activities focused how Nokia was redefining
the power of connectivity by putting mobile
internet capabilities in users’ hands.
Pico was appointed to design, build and project
manage the entire event as well as provide
multimedia support for the opening ceremony
and showcase sets. This year’s design and theme
conceptualisation was also aligned with Nokia’s
new positioning as being a ‘solutions’ provider
rather than just a mobile company.

Bahrain’s Ministry of Municipalities and
Agricultural Affairs (MMAA) is responsible for
all major municipal achievements. Its key recent
activities included the Municipality’s recent 90th
Anniversary Celebration under the patronage
of Prime Minister, HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman
Al Khalifa. Asked to help showcase history and
achievements of Bahrain’s municipalities over the
past 90 years, Pico designed a regal event setting
that highlighted the progress and achievements
of the municipality to a VIP audience.
In conceptualising and executing the project,
Pico worked closely with Miracle Graphics. The
resultant event comprised two core areas – a
main presentation stage for speeches, awards
and performances and a separate exhibition area
showcasing historical archival photos and videos.

“We are happy that Pico has shared our pride in perfectly reflecting and upholding MMAA’s high
standards. Your team’s concept and execution perfectly reflects our vision.” - Dr. Mohamed Ali

When Asia’s leading diamond and jewellery company, Chow Tai Fook Jewellery Company Limited
(CTF) planned how to differentiate their 2010 event, they decided to host three ambitious sub-events
in one day. Pico was appointed to design, build and project manage every aspect of these events to
our usual high standards of professionalism and creativity. This is the second time we have partnered
CTF and, as before, the client was greatly impressed by our excellent onsite management expertise.
In addition to organising a company policy seminar, we also planned a cocktail party for suppliers
and CTF’s gala anniversary banquet. In helping the client to ensure each set-up matched their new
venue, our team was very flexible in its approach. To maximise the impact of the event’s special
lighting and floral decorations, we created a natural environment where the client’s staff could
interact with their clients within an unmistakably CTF environment.
“Pico planned and implemented this event very well and we are highly appreciative of your work.”

Pico has long been a preferred supplier for
Allison Transmission (AT) which markets
the broadest, most advanced range of fully
automatic power shift transmissions for both
on and off-road applications.
Pico was recently commissioned to construct
a stand showcasing AT’s products using the
company’s corporate fiery red as its design
inspiration. The eye-catching 54 sq. m. stand

China International Medical Equipment Fair (CMEF) is the largest exhibition of medical equipment,
related products and services in the Asia-Pacific region.
Pico was appointed to design, build and manage the exhibition stand for Shenzhen Anke High-tech
Co., Ltd. (ANKE) to showcase their new products and services. ANKE is a Sino-US joint venture in-
corporated by Chinese Academy of Sciences and Analogic Corporation (listed in Nasdaq) in 1986. It
is one of the first high-tech enterprises certified by Chinese government. Considering of the limited
space and various displaying products, the double deck booth design is simple and bright, not only
representing constant creativity spirit of ANKE but also becoming an eye-catching of attendees in
the fair.
“Pico provided us a perfect combination of design and functionality for the stand, besides that, we
are impressed by Pico’s excellent execution ability much.” - Mr. Gan, Planning Department, ANKE

While global biopharma leader UCB has taken part in many international shows around the world,
its Australian team is still fairly young in the trade show area. Pico assisted the company in creating
stand design concepts and production, also sourcing for Apple iPads for their trade show from
overseas as it has not been official released in Australia. The stands integrated two interactive sections,
namely the iPads and bluetooth broadcasting. Apple iPads were used to help UCB gather informa-
tion about their delagates and introduce the product via a quiz. Using bluetooth broadcast, details
of upcoming events were broadcasted to delagates via their mobiles phones throughout the day.

The Sultan of Oman’s Information Technology Authority (OITA), e.oman™, recently participated the
annual Oman Comex IT exhibition in Muscat. Leveraging Pico’s design and fabrication expertise,
the client’s stand took up fully 3,000 sq. m. of exhibition floorspace. Naturally, being a government
entity, the stand had to fulfill several requirements including showcasing Omani people’s e-lifestyle,
Comex IT 2010 e.oman™ Makes Presences Felt at Comex 2010
e-government & e-businesses. In doing so, the
stand featured several hi-tech areas including a
Smart Home, Kids Zone & eServices cafe.
To ensure cost-effectiveness, Pico’s design team
divided the heavily branded space in three main
blocks. The circular designed centre block held
the exhibition kiosks for OITA’s key initiatives.
Each kiosk was connected with overhead canopies
prominently displaying e.oman™’s vibrant
pixelated logo to maximise branding. The fact
that the bulk of the structure was designed with
Pico’s 11,000 sq. m. of system stock further
reduced set-up costs.
“Thanks as always for your great work!”
