the city clerk have the Michigan State Telephone Co. transfer phones in use by former city officials to their succe:?sors, and furnish the city with a blanket sheet showing the free phones furnished by the company, and those where charge is made. Resolved, further, that the said com­pany be requested to furnish the city clerk with a blanket bill for all extra phone service each quarter. Adopted.

By Aid. Sherk: Resolved, that a stand pipe be put in on the Fair­grounds for use of the driving club. Referred to the water committee.

By Aid. Groves: Whereas, about one year ago the Board of Public Works declared its intention to and did experiment with various bitumens for surfacing our concrete pavements; now, therefore, Resolved that said board be requested to report to this council the result of these experi­ments, giving name of material used and cost per gallon. Piesolved, fur­ther, that said board make recom­mendations regarding material for the coming season, and to make pur­chase of same upon orders of this council.

Ordinance Conunitlee. Aid. Schultz presented the follow­

ing ordinance for its third reading: "An Ordinance to Amend an Or­

dinance Entitled an Ordinance Relative the Management and Control of Fair View Cemetery," paissed January 9th, 1905; approv­ed January 17th, 1905. The Common Council of the City of

Ann Arbor Ordain; Sec. 1. That section 4 of an Or­dinance entitled "An Ordinance

Relative the Management and Con­trol of Fair View Cemetery," passed January 9th. 1905 and approved January 17th, 1905 be and the same is hereby amended to read as fol­lows:

Sec. 4. All persons desiring to bury friends or relatives in Fair View Cemetery must file an appli­cation with the city clerk for a burial permit, such application to be accompanied by a fee of Five Dol­lars for an Adult, Three Dollars for a child from the age of five years to twelve years, and Two Dollars for a •child under five years of age, to

Vover the expense of digging and filling and sodding the grave. The following charge shall be paid the city clerk for use of the receiving vault: Two Dollars for the fii-rst iitteen days, and twenty-five cents per week thereafter for all persons over twelve years of age; One Dollar for first fifteen days and twenty-fi\e cents per week thereafter for all persons not over twelve years of age. Provided, however, that if a body ifs i>laced in the vault for the convenience of the Sexton no charge for such time shall be made.

This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after ten days from legal publication.

Resolved, fur­ther, that there ).e a patrolman or the chief in the police office at all times, day and night, when not ans­wering an urgent call.
