The Art Group is “GOING POTTY”
What a wonderful way to spend
Tuesday mornings. The Art Social
Group meets fortnightly at the Joy
Anderson Centre for art, morning
tea, great conversation and laughs.
Recently the group were involved in
making a terracotta Pot Man which
led us to investigate other terracotta
pot crafts. We put our heads
together and came up with our first
terracotta pot bird bath which we entered into the Rights
on Show Art Exhibition and it now
has pride of place in our beautiful
garden at Joy Anderson Centre.
We didn’t win but from that one
bird bath and Pot Man we now
have people interested in
ordering their own unique art
pieces.
Val Cowan, who tirelessly volunteers her time at Art
Social Group, introduced to us the art of making flowers
from old, damaged vinyl records and they too have
pride of place in our garden. Each one is unique and
has the groups’ personal touches.
The participants are getting so
much satisfaction from seeing
their small ideas develop and
come to fruition and when we
have visitors to Joy Anderson
Centre they can proudly show
off their art pieces.
