Lamina Technologies of Switzerland pioneered the Multi-Mat® (one grade for Multiple Materials/applications), concept in the early 2000’s. Since then it has proven a huge success in Europe and now in the USA.

PROBLEM :

The basis of the concept is simple enough - most machinists agree that a large inventory of several different grades and geometries of inserts is time consuming to work with - from the standpoint of ordering and usage. This time is better spent making chips.

Lamina Multi-Mat® inserts feature tightly bound sub-micron carbide structure with a special PVD TiAlN coating. The secret to performance is consistency and tightly managed quality control.

Lamina Technologies offers two milling grades - both with PHENOMENAL performance - LT 30 - for Cast Irons, Steels, Stainless and Super (High Temp) AlloysLT 05 - for Aluminum

Reduce down time of machine due to setup and tool change, while changing work piece material and application (Semi-roughing to Super-finishing or Roughing to Finishing).

Lamina’s Solution : Use one Multi-Mat® grade of insert for most materials and Optimize cutting conditions to suit the insert and application, in order to achieve higher chip removal rates (combination of Cutting Speed (Vc),Feed Rate (f), Depth of Cut (ap)).

On all materials, Lamina inserts will be at least as good as the dedicated insert from the competition.

Shell MillsEVERMILL® cutters have been optimally designed to perform with INDUSTRY standard milling inserts (APKT/APLX 10mm & APKT/APLX 16mm rectangular inserts, RDMT - round inserts, and SDKT square inserts).

The concept behind the EVERMILL® line of cutters was to provide shops with a HIGH quality cutter without locking the user into a proprietary insert geometry - all at extremely affordable prices.

EVERMILL® cutters are available in straight shank (endmill) style and arbor hole (shellmill/facemill) style.

Endmill style cutters are available in 90° style.

Shellmills are available in 90° square shoulder cutters, 45° style and round insert style.

Climb milling is recommended wherever possible.

Pocketing is possible by ramping at 1° to 1.5° degrees.

While facemilling it is recommended to engage 2/3 of the cutter diameter.
