BEYOND A.D. - Meeting at 6 pm (Sunday nights) in the Sanctuary

This study explores the events that followed the Crucifixion of Christ. As most of the world knows, the Crucifixion was only the beginning of the story. The immediate aftermath of Christ’s death had a massive impact on his disciples, his mother Mary, and key political and religious leaders of the era, completely altering the entire world in an instant. Watch the movie (only 1 hour in length) each Sunday night, then come to the Sanctuary and join us in a review / discussion of those events the following Sunday night. Come and join us. It isn’t too late to get in on this very interesting study.

YOUTH MISSION TRIP FUNDRAISERS The next fundraiser will be another car wash on Saturday, May 2 from 8 am - 2 pm. Bring your mom’s car and get it cleaned up for her for Mother’s Day! The youth do a great job! And all donations go toward the expenses of the youth mission trip to the Dominican Republic in July.

If you don’t need your car washed, try the “Rent-A-Student” fundraiser going on now. You may want your lawn mowed / raked, gutters cleaned out, or any number of other small odd jobs done. Just visit the Mission Trip station in the foyer, complete a request, and leave it in the box. Danny will contact you to set up a day and time for your job to be done.

GRADUATION SUNDAY, MAY 17 8:30 a.m. Breakfast for 8th Grade & High School graduates & their parents. Turn in the number attending to the office by May 3rd.

10:00 a.m. We will recognize all our 8th Grade & High School graduates (graduates bring your cap & gown). We need 5 pictures from each of the graduating seniors! Turn the pictures in to the office by May 3rd.

College Graduates: Please contact the office by May 3rd with your college name & your degree earned so that we may recognize your accomplishments.

MOTHER DAUGHTER BANQUET Save the date for the upcoming Mother Daughter Banquet on Saturday, May 9 at 5:30 pm in the MPR. We will have a great meal and a wonderful speaker. Even better, the men are working the kitchen and clean up. More details to follow!

MEMORY CHALLENGE FOR CAMP

Here’s a challenge...if you can recite the names of all 66 books of the Bible before you go to Oil Belt Camp this summer, you will receive a FREE camp t-shirt! So, start memorizing now, then see Laura when you are ready!

WOMEN OF FAITH

The Women of Faith will be in Louisville, KY on August 14-15 for their last tour. If you would like to attend this event, you may go to their website for tickets, hotel reservations and more information. The office is not coordinating a trip this year. To get more information, go to: http://www.womenoffaith.com/events2/.

COMPASSION SUNDAY

APRIL 26

First Christian Church is participating in Compassion Sunday next Sunday, April 26. This is a national event that helps us grow in our understanding of God’s very special love for the poor. It’s also an opportunity for each of us to intervene in the life of at least one child in poverty. We will have packets showing boys and girls who need a sponsor right now. This is your opportunity to release a child from poverty in Jesus’ name. You will give them a future and a hope through the loving intervention of a Christ-centered program run by a local church in their neighborhood. Please be in prayer this week about sponsoring one of these children who are in desperate need of our support.
