Per AKC Rules Applying to Dog Shows, Chapter 11, Sec on 8, Field and Dual Champions may not be shown if neutered or spayed.

BEST OF VARIETY COMPETITION

Non‐Regular Classes (Addi onal) Involving Mul ple Dog Entries (Na onal Specialty Only)

In accordance with AKC rule Chapter 11, Sec on 8, a neutered dog may be entered as the Stud Dog in the Stud Dog Class and a spayed bitch may be entered as the Brood Bitch in a Brood Bitch class. As the judge's decision in the Non‐Regular Classes involving Mul ple Dog Entries is based on the merits of more than one dog or bitch, no one of the dogs or bitches making up the entry judged first in these classes will be eligible to compete for Best of Breed by virtue of having won these classes. Stud Dog Class. (Na onal Only) For stud dogs and at least two and no more than four of their get. Stud dog must be entered in the appropriate Stud Dog Class and must be shown in the ring with its get. Owner of stud dog need not necessarily be owner of get. Get only to be judged, based upon their merits. While the merits of the stud dog are not to be considered in the placement of the entry, the stud dog must be examined to determine if it has a condi on that would require its dis‐qualifica on or excusal under Dog Show Rules, AKC policy, or the standard for its breed. Get must be entered in a Regular Class, Best of Variety Compe on, or some other Non‐Regular Class. Brood Bitch Class. (Na onal Only) Same as Stud Dog except subs tute Brood Bitch for Stud Dog and Produce for Get. Brace Class. (Na onal Only) Brace Class shall be for two dogs of the same variety and at least one common owner. Dogs do NOT have to be entered in another class at this show. The entry forms must be marked accordingly in the space for Classes as Brace. If more than one Brace is entered by one or more common owner, the dogs comprising EACH Brace must be designated “Brace No 1, Brace No 2,” etc. Dogs comprising each brace must be named at me of entry.

SWEEPSTAKES CLASSES (NATIONAL SPECIALTY ONLY) Sweepstakes Eligibility: Any purebred dachshund, individually registered with AKC, 6 months and under 18 months of age and entered in a regular class at this show.

Best of Variety and Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Variety (open to first place winner in each class) to be judged separately in each variety. DCA Judges’ Education

The Judges’ Educa on Seminar will begin Friday, May 24, at 8 a.m. in the Purina Event Center. The Judges’ Hands‐On Workshop will be Friday a ernoon, 20 minutes a er BOV judging, in the Purina Event Center. There is a $20 charge for par cipants. PARADE OF VETERANS (NATIONAL SPECIALTY ONLY ) This non‐compe ve parade is open to any dachshund that is 7 years of age or older and not entered in any other class at the show. Please submit a short history (150 words or fewer) of your veteran with your entry form. This history, if within the correct number of words, will be included in the catalog and read during the parade. Histories longer than 150 words will not be

in the catalog.

OBEDIENCE & RALLY TRIALS DCA will refund entry fees (less $10.00) in Obedience & Rally for bitches who come in season after entries close provided a veterinary certificate is presented to the Superintendent 30 minutes prior to the start of regular judging.

Veteran: The Veteran Class will be for dogs that have an obedience tle and are at least seven years old on the date of the trial. Brace: The Brace Class will be for two dogs that are eligible under these regula ons and capable of performing the Novice exercises. The dogs need not be owned by the same person but will be handled by one handler. If more than one Brace is entered, the dogs comprising EACH Brace must be designated “Brace No 1, Brace No 2,” etc. Dogs comprising each brace must be named at me of entry. Team: The Team Class will be for four (4) dogs & four (4) handlers that are eligible under these regula ons and capable of performing the Novice exercises. The dogs need not be owned by the same person. JUNIOR SHOWMANSHIP COMPETITION

Novice Class ‐ shall be for boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show and who at the time entries close have not won three (3) first place awards, with competition present, in a Novice Class. A first place in Novice without competition leading to a Best Junior award with competition would count as one win towards moving to Open at a licensed or member show. Junior Handlers who win a third Novice Class with competition, if a win in Novice leads to a Best Junior with competition present it will count as one win towards moving to Open, after the closing of entries for a show are required to transfer their entry from the Novice Class to the Open Class by notifying the Superintendent or Show Secretary prior to the judging of the class at the show. Open Class ‐ shall be for boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show and who have won three (3) first place awards in a Novice Class or if a win in Novice leads to a Best Junior with competition present it will count as one win towards moving to Open in a licensed or member show. Master Class ‐ will be for boys & girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years on the day of the show, and who have won 10 Best Junior wins with competition. The calendar for this class will be consistent with the eligibility dates for the AKC National Championship. All Juniors meeting the criteria for this class are required to enter the Master Class and must change their entry the day of the show if entries have already closed. Once the eligibility time frame for that year has passed all participants return to the Open Class to complete for the following year.

No entry may be changed or cancelled unless notice of the change or cancellation is received in writing by the Superintendent or Show Secretary named in the premium list to receive entries, prior to the closing date and hour for entries, except that a correction may be made from one age division to another, as well as, move from Master to Open or Open to Novice if a win has been disallowed or the Junior miscalculated number of placements, provided this transfer is made by the Superintendent or Show Secretary prior to the judging of the class at the show. NOTICE: Junior Handlers must include their AKC JUNIOR HANDLER NUMBER on each entry. You may obtain your junior identification number by calling the AKC, Judges Education Depart‐ment (919) 233‐9767.

CANADIAN EXHIBITORS MUST SUBMIT ENTRIES WITH CHECKS DRAWN ON U.S. ACCOUNTS OR WITH INTER‐NATIONAL MONEY ORDERS IN U.S. FUNDS.

A Recording Fee of 50 cents for each dog and an AKC Event Service Fee of $3.00 will be required for each recordable single entry class at any Licensed or Member Club Show or Obedience Trial. (American Kennel Club Rule, Chapter 11, Section 2). A $3.50 AKC Recording Fee will be required for the first entry in Rally and $3.00 for each additional entry in Rally. (American Kennel Club Rally Regulation, Chapter 1, Section 5). A $2.00 Event Service Fee will be required for each entry in 4‐6 Month Beginner Puppy. These Fees are paid to the American Kennel Club.

RETURNED CHECKS / INVALID CREDIT CARDS do not constitute a valid entry. The Superintendent will add a collection fee of $25 to the amount of each returned check and credit card. Subsequent returned checks and credit card from the same exhibitors may result in their being put on a cash‐only basis. Entry Fee will not be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, excused by Veterinarian or judge, or barred from competition by action of the Show Committee.

No entry fees will be refunded if the Show cannot open or be completed by reason of riots, civil disturb‐ances, fire, extreme and or dangerous weather conditions, an Act of God, public emergency, act of public enemy, strikes or any other cause beyond the control of the Club or the Superintendent.

No Refund for Duplicate Entries. Every effort to find all duplicate entries will be made; however, if entry has been processed, no refund will be made.

Refunds made for cancellation of entries before the closing date will be subject to a $3.00 administrative/processing fee per entry.

No Entry shall be made and no entry shall be accepted which specifies any conditions as to its acceptance. Changes, additions or corrections to entry forms must be received in writing prior to close of entries. Those received by telephone are not acceptable.

Dogs need be present only for scheduled judging and will be released if not needed for further judging. Dogs must be ready for judging. Neither the club nor the Superintendent will be responsible or obligated to furnish any service for notifying exhibitors or their agents of Breed or Class judging. Judges need not wait for any dog holding up the class. Owners or agents alone are responsible for the presence of their dogs in the judging rings.

Exhibitors should follow their veterinarian’s recommendation to assure their dogs are free of internal and external parasites, any communicable diseases and have appropriate vaccinations.

The show giving club, the Superintendent, their agents, employees, etc., assume no responsibility for any loss, damage, or injury sustained by exhibitors or handlers to any of their dogs or property, and further assume no responsibility for injury to children. PUBLICATION RIGHTS By entering this show, all owners, handlers, breeders and kennels agree that all rights to televise, videotape, photograph, advertise, promote and publicize or otherwise exploit this show, or the persons or animals participating in it or the results of the competition before, during or after the event, shall belong solely to The American Kennel Club and their respective assigns, including the use of the names, likenesses or biographical matter of all dogs, owners, handlers, breeders and kennels participating in the show and no such owner, handler, breeder or kennel shall allow any other party to make commercial use of any videotape or photograph of any person or animal participating in this competition.

DCA 2019 National Specialty RV Reservation Form

• RV parking will be on‐site at the Purina Event Center. There are 74 full hook‐ups, including water, sewer, WI‐FI and 50 amp electric in the upper lot near the event center. Each site also has 30 amp and 110 electric. • In addi on, there are more spaces available in the lower lot just down the hill from the event center that have 30 and 50 amp electric, but no sewer hook‐ups. (Spaces are assigned in this lot and reserva ons are required) (See property map h ps://www.purina.com/sites/g/files/auxxlc196/files/2018‐07/PF%20676F.pdf ) • No motorized vehicles as per Purina rules unless a medical condi on or disability requires the use of one. • RV parking will not start before 3:00 PM on Sunday, May 19, 2019. All RVs must vacate the property no later than 9:00AM, Sunday, May 26, 2019. Please Note: Quiet Hours on the property are 11:00pm to 6:00am. RV exhibitors arriving during that me should be as quiet as possible. All reserva ons must be made in advance. The fee is full hook‐ups in the upper lot is $45.00 a day and the fee for par al hook‐ups in the lower lot is $30 a day. PURINA FARMS OVERNIGHT CAMPING GUIDELINES

• Campers at Purina Farms must have a pre‐reserved site in one of two designated RV lots – the full‐service lot behind the Purina Event Center or the overflow lot near the Main Show Field – at Purina Farms. Sites can only be reserved for pull‐behind trailers and motorhomes. o The sites designated 45‐47 in the overflow lot are reserved for events taking place at the Go To Ground Dens unless Purina Farms management authorizes an excep on. • Unless otherwise noted, campers should not arrive on the property any earlier than noon or 3p.m. on the set up day for an event. Campers must vacate their sites by 9a.m. the day a er the show. Note: Campers can only stay un l 9a.m. the day a er the show with a pre‐reserved, pre‐paid spot. • Upon arrival at Purina Farms, campers must check‐in with Purina Farms security at the front entrance gate to the property or call 636‐221‐1428 to receive parking tags and camping informa on. • Each camper will receive 3 parking tags good for one camper and 2 accompanying non‐commercial vehicles (note that a tow vehicle would be considered one of the 2 accompanying vehicles). Accompany‐ing vehicles may only be parked at the site when the site is occupied by the affiliated camper. The full‐service Purina Event Center lot tags are red and the overflow lot tags are yellow. Parking tags must be visible inside the vehicles at all mes. • A camper, along with the 2 non‐commercial vehicles, must fit within the size limits of each designated site, which may mean unhooking. Campers and accompanying vehicles should not block roadways or they will be asked to move. If accompanying vehicles do not fit in the designated site, then they may be parked in the regular North parking lot in front of the building. Camper sizes must be accurately reported at the me of the reserva on and on the reserva on list or risk being moved to a site more accommoda ng to

the actual size of the camper. • Any campers arriving before their scheduled mes may be placed in a holding area on property by security or may be asked to leave and come back when the lots open up. Holding areas include the lower Main Show Field parking lot or the Outdoor Agility Field parking lot. • Night owls and early risers, please be mindful of your fellow campers by keeping all noise levels low between the quiet hours of 11 p.m. and 6 a.m. Campers coming in a er 11p.m. will be directed to a hold‐ing lot by security so as not to disrupt other overnight guests. • Purina Farms security regularly monitors the lots and is available on property 24/7. • In case of a medical emergency in one of the lots, call Purina Farms security (see important contact numbers) or 911. In the evening or a er hours, guests needing medical a en on should leave their camper’s lights on allowing the response team to easily iden fy the appropriate vehicle. • Purina Farms offers addi onal equipment for campers (hoses, etc..) for purchase if needed. Visit the administra ve offices on the second floor the Purina Event Center or the Pro Plan Hospitality Room on the first floor of the Purina Event Center to inquire about purchasing equipment. Also, please no fy Puri‐na Farms management if you are having any difficul es with the hook‐ups, including electric. Call security if you can’t locate Purina Farms management within the Purina Event Center. • A camper MUST be checked on regularly if dogs are le una ended inside and there MUST be a reliable means to monitor the temperature in the vehicle. Purina reserves the right to remove any animals in distress from the vehicle. • Other general items to note: No parking on grass • No tent camping • All dogs must remain on leash and supervised unless inside a vehicle or compe ng • No shavings on any grass around the property. • Motorized vehicles, which includes golf carts, are not allowed except in the case when a medical condi‐on or disability requires the use of one or prior authoriza on is obtained from Purina Farms manage‐

ment and event organizers. o Propane and charcoal grilling are permi ed in the lots. Guests should let the coals burn out overnight, bag them the next day and put them in a trash barrel. o Open fires, including fire pits, are not allowed on the property. o Free WiFi is provided under our “guest network” and no password is required. The expecta on is that each camper will abide by acceptable use guidelines in order to con nue to have access to this resource.

Purina Farms reserves the right to ask any camper or accompanying vehicle without appropriate documenta on, or those in viola on of these guidelines, to leave the property or be subject to towing.

INCLEMENT WEATHER In the event a severe weather or tornado warning is issued for the immediate area, Site Security will no fy the Purina Farms management team. The team will no fy guests of an impending weather event via the propertywide public address system and via the storm siren and announcements. Guests will be asked to seek cover in designated areas marked as severe weather shelter areas inside the Purina Farms facili es (those in the outdoor event areas should seek cover in one of the indoor facili es on the proper‐ty). Areas at the Purina Event Center include the Gateway Hall, restrooms, South stairwell and the Great

Hall if necessary. A er the weather event ends, Purina Farms management teams will announce all clear.

• If weather is extreme a er‐hours, then security will unlock the Purina Event Center to allow overnight guests to come into the building with dogs at any me. The service center is also open 24/7 for campers to seek shelter.

• Should the weather look threatening, Purina Farms Security will go around the lots to no fy overnight guests to seek shelter. Security will also visit the outdoor event areas around the property to let guests know there is threat.

PURINA FARMS GUEST RULES Property Access and Building Hours: The front Purina Farms entrance/exit gate is manned daily by a security guard from 6a.m. – 6p.m. to allow access to the property. Gates may be closed outside of these hours, but access to and from the property is s ll possible by pushing a call bu on at the gate or calling security at 636‐221‐1428 or 314‐982‐2217. The exit gate automa cally opens to allow guests to leave. Clean‐up: Guests are responsible for cleaning up a er their dogs. This includes properly disposing of waste and using designated relief areas and the public x‐pen area on the East side of the Gateway Hall for all elimina on needs. Designated sta ons throughout the facility should be used appropriately (i.e. watering sta on should not be used for waste or other materials and bathing tubs should not be used for cleaning crates.) For RV Informa on, Inclement Weather Instruc ons, Important Contact Numbers, and Special Notes: See Above Vehicles: Guests may not bring or use motorized vehicles on the property unless a medical condi on requires the use of one. Documenta on must be presented upon request by Purina Farms staff. An or‐ganiza on can rent motorized vehicles for use to help shu le their par cipants around the property Golf carts may not be parked on sidewalks. Designated golf cart parking is available in the North parking lot of the Purina Event Center. Vendors: Vendors must abide by all Purina Farms guest rules in addi on to the guidelines outlined by the organiza on ren ng the facility. Vendors must start moving out of the event area at most 30 min a er the end of the event. Vendor set‐ups can’t be le in the event area in‐between events unless other‐wise pre‐approved by Purina Farms Manager. Vendor trailers must be parked in a designated parking spot. Grooming: 20 amps of electric service available per assigned space. All grooming in The Great Hall must be on 4mil plas c that covers the floor. Rubber caps for the tables are available if tables appear they will damage the flooring.


Food and Beverage: Need to be purchased through the on‐site food service and catering company. No outside food or beverage, or outside food service/catering company, is allowed on the Purina Farms property (unless organiza on receives wri en permission from Purina Farms management). Any viola‐on will be reported to the AKC or the appropriate sanc oning en ty of the event.

Cra ng: Cra ng in The Great Hall is determined by the organiza on hos ng the event. It will not be dictated or enforced by Purina Farms. All crates must be on a solid type of ma ng that won’t allow liquids or other substances to seep through on to the floor. Grooming, Security and Overnight Cra ng: The building will be available to exhibitors Monday, May 20, 2019 3:00pm –11:00pm. Dogs may be le overnight as there will be overnight security in the Event Center Monday, May 20, 2019 through Saturday, May 25, 2019. All Dogs and Equipment must be removed from the Event Center Sunday, May 26, 2019 by 9:00am. Building Hours May 21‐25 are 6:00am to 11:00pm. Any dog staying overnight in the building must have a notecard on its crate clearly displaying a cell phone number of the owner and/handler in case of emergency. Guests may not be in the building a er the building closes for the night at 11pm. Dogs: No dogs are allowed, except for service dogs: in the Checkerboard Café, on the second floor of the Purina Event Center (unless given prior permission) and in any restroom or human bathing area. All dogs are required to be on‐leash at Purina Farms at all mes (except when crated or as required to be judged.) No dogs should be le una ended in the off‐leash exercise areas or the public outdoor x‐pens around the property. Parking: No parking is allowed in the following areas: Fire lanes, inside either Hall (No vehicles are allowed to drive inside either hall) or on the sidewalks leading into either Hall except where loading and unloading is designated. In addi on, no driving is allowed on sidewalks. Driving or parking on any grass at Purina Farms is prohibited. All guests must abide by the 15‐minute unloading/loading parking me limit designated around the Purina Event Center. Supplies: Duct tape may not be used in the building. Only painter’s tape and gaffer’s tape can be used on the floor and walls of the facility. General: No helium balloons in either hall. Balloons can be used in the Founder’s Room (with approv‐al from Purina Farms management). No gli er, confe or candles allowed in Purina Farms facili es. Public intoxica on is prohibited at Purina Farms. Please drink responsibly. No exercise pens allowed around the front and back of the Purina Event Center or the grassy area adja‐cent to the East side of the Gateway Hall. Overall, exercise pens around the perimeter of the en re building are strongly discouraged. Any exercise pens on designated grassy areas should not have a flooring/covering to prevent damage to the grass. Shavings may not be used on any grass around Purina Farms. o All organiza ons shipping items to Purina Farms should ship to “Purina Event Center Warehouse, 320 Checkerboard Loop, Gray Summit, MO 63039.” Boxes must be clearly marked for the organiza on. Organiza ons ship at their own risk. Receiving charges apply. o All guests and their dogs must remain on the part of the property owned by Purina Farms. Trespassing on Purina Animal Nutri on property is forbidden. Purina Farms and Purina Animal Nutri on are not affiliated. Property map showing divisions can be provided upon request. o Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult at all mes when on the grounds (including the Purina Farms Visitor Center and especially on the balcony at the Purina Event Center). o Guests accept personal liability with respect to any claim made in respect to any damage or injury caused by their dogs or dogs in their possession. o No selling of puppies, ki ens, dogs or cats on the premises. o Smoking, including the use of electronic cigare es, is prohibited in buildings. o Weapons of any kind, illegal drugs and fireworks are not permi ed on the premises. o Purina Farms logs all lost and found items and stores them in a locked area. AGREEMENT I (we) agree that the club holding this event has the right to refuse this entry for cause which the club shall deem sufficient. In consideration of the acceptance of this entry and of the holding of this event and of the opportunity to have the dog judged and to win prizes, ribbons, or trophies, I (we) agree to hold the AKC, the event-giving club, their members, directors, governors, officers, agents, superintendents or event secretary and the owner and/or lessor of the premises and any provider of services that are necessary to hold this event and any employees or volunteers of the aforementioned parties, and any AKC approved judge, judging at this event, harmless from any claim for loss or injury which may be alleged to have been caused directly or indirectly to any person or thing by the act of this dog while in or about the event premises or grounds or near any entrance thereto, and I (we) personally assume all responsibility and liability for any such claim; and I (we) further agree to hold the aforementioned parties harmless from any claim for loss, injury or damage to this dog. Additionally, I (we) hereby assume the sole responsibility for and agree to indemnify, defend and save the aforementioned parties harmless from any and all loss and expense (including legal fees) by reason of the liability imposed by law upon any of the aforementioned parties for damage because of bodily injuries, including death at any time resulting therefrom, sustained by any person or persons, including myself (ourselves), or on account of damage to property, arising out of or in consequence of my (our) participation in this event, however such, injuries, death or property damage may be caused, and whether or not the same may have been caused or may be alleged to have been caused by the negligence of the aforementioned parties or any of their employees, agents, or any other persons. INSTRUCTIONS 1. (Variety) if you are entering a dog of breed in which there are varie es for show purposes, please designate the par c‐ular variety you are entering, i.e., Cocker Spaniel (solid color black, ASCOB, par ‐color), Beagles (not exceeding 13 in., over 13 in. but not exceeding 15 in.), Dachshunds (longhaired, smooth, wirehaired), Collies (rough, smooth), Bull Terriers (colored, white), Manchester Terriers (standard, toy), Chihuahuas (smooth coat, long coat), English Toy Spaniels (King Charles and Ruby, Blenheim and Prince Charles), Poodles (toy, miniature, standard).

2. The following categories of dogs may be entered and shown in Best of Breed compe on: Dogs that are Champions of Record and dogs which, according to their owners’ records, have completed the requirements for a championship, but whose championships are unconfirmed. The showing of unconfirmed Champions in Best of Breed compe on is limited to a period of 90 days from the date of the show where the dog completed the requirements for a championship.

3. (Event Class) Consult the classifica on in this premium list. If the event class in which you are entering your dog is divided, then, in addi on to designa ng the class, specify the par cular division of the class in which you are entering your dog, i.e., age division, color division, weight division.

4. A dog must be entered in the name of the person who actually owned it at the me entries for an event closed. If a registered dog has been acquired by a new owner it must be entered in the name of its new owner in any event for which entries closed a er the date of acquirement, regardless of whether the new owner has received the registra on cer fi‐cate indica ng that the dog is recorded in his name. State on entry form whether transfer applica on has been mailed to the AKC. (For complete rules, refer to Chapter 11, Sec on 3.)

5. Mixed Breed dogs entering classes for Agility, Obedience. and Rally trials should mark Breed as AKC Canine Partners Listed Dog “All American Dog/Mixed Breed.” Variety, Breeder, Sire, Dam informa on shall remain blank for mixed breed entrants.
