Designer Note: Fabric cutting instructions indicate which template to use with each fabric. Cut out fabrics with the WOF strip unfolded so that you are only cutting (1) fabric template at a time.

Template Cutting Instructions

Cut out Templates #1-14 from the template sheets making sure to include the outermost dotted ¼” seam line while trimming. Some templates are printed across multiple sheets of paper due to size. Using the small block guide on the template pages, align the black lines of each template section and tape together for a complete template. Make sure that your printer does not scale down your templates. Printer should be set at ‘actual size’ or 100%.

Piecing Instructions

Block A

1. There are (2) Block A colorways. Following the piecing instructions listed, colorway guide, and colorway diagrams shown, lay out the block according to the template diagram. (Some templates are very similar in shape, such as Templates #1 and #5. It is important to organize templates in the correct order and orientation.)

2. Sew Templates #1, #2, #3, #4 and #5 together in numerical order using a ¼” seam. Press seams away from Template #3.

3. Sew (1) Template #6 to the unit created in Step 2 using curved piecing methods. Use pins to line up the centers and ends of Template #6 and the pieced unit. Slowly sew a ¼” curved seam, using your fingers to smooth the edges as you sew. Press seams toward Template #6.

4. Using the same curved piecing methods described in Step 3, sew Template #7 to the bottom of the pieced unit as shown. Press seams toward Template #7 to complete Block A.
