    Congratulations SAM class of 2012!

    Achievement

    The awesome SAM graduates

    from both Subang Jaya &

    Sri Hartamas campus.

    SAM Worldwide Highest Subject Achiever Award

    Daljit Singh, Lee Ming Jun, Ho Jian Ping and

    Mr Lim Tou Boon (President, Taylors College).

    South Australian Matriculation (SAM)

    students made Taylors proud when 37 of

    them were awarded Merit Certificates for

    outstanding results in their subjects. Out of

    the 48 certificates given away, 37 were to

    Taylors SAM students; making it 77 per cent

    of the total!

    The highest achiever of this cohort was Lee

    Ming Jun, who was named the SAM World-

    wide Highest Overall Achiever at the ceremo-

    ny held in January. Including Lee, four other

    SAM graduates were also awarded with the

    SAM Worldwide Highest Subject Achiever

    Award given out by the SACE Board of South

    Australia.

    An incredible total of 227 graduates are

    ranked in the top 10%, with ATAR 90.00 and

    above the highest collective score for anySAM programme in Malaysia.

    Congratulations graduates, you are indeed

    the worlds best!

    Outstanding CAL Results

    from Nov 2012 ExamIn recognition of the outstanding results of

    Cambridge A Level (CAL) students who sat

    for the November 2012 examination, the

    CAL programme hosted an Award

    Ceremony on 22 February. About 150

    students and parents gathered in the new

    Learning Hub for the ceremony where

    students received their certificates andgathered for photography sessions.

    Out of 277 students who sat for the exams,

    26% obtained 3As and above, while 15%

    obtained 4As and above. Confirmed

    university placements from this cohort

    include 17 to London School of Economics

    (LSE), 12 to Imperial College London, 17 to

    the University of Warwick and 57 to

    International Medical University (IMU).

    Rakesh was also a recipient of the Outstanding Cambridge

    Learner Awards and was awarded the Top in Malaysia

    for 3 A-Level subjects (Biology, Chemistry and Physics).

    18 February marked the transition to a new learning

    experience for students at TCSJ; on this day, the new

    informal learning spaces known as the Learning Hub

    was officially opened to students. This hub aims to

    empower learners to thrive in a student-focused

    learning environment.

    03TCSH Graduate Awarded with FullScholarship from NYU

    Scholarship

    Representing Taylors at theUS-ASEAN Young Leaders Summit 2012

    Leaders of Tomorrow

    Bilal Hyder, an international student

    graduate of Cambridge A Levels (CAL)

    from Taylors College Sri Hartamas

    (TCSH) was recently awarded a full

    scholarship from New York University

    in Abu Dhabi. This scholarship, valued

    at USD $63,500 per academic year is

    offered to only 208 applicants out of

    the nearly 15,520 who applied.

    Eleasha Chew, an International Baccalaureate

    (IB) student from Taylors College Sri Hartamas

    (TCSH) took part in the first US-ASEAN Young

    Leaders Summit, hosted by the US Embassy in

    Jakarta last December.

    Participants were involved in discussions on the

    best practices in organising and leading community

    service activities, skill-building workshops and

    professional development seminars. They also

    participated in community service projects in

    cooperation with Indonesian NGOs.Eleasha Chew presenting at the Secretariat of

    Insights on Entry into London Schoolof Economics (LSE)

    Placement Highlights

    Discovering the very Best ofCanadian Education

    Approximately 350 students attended the talk by

    Ms Angela Heywood, a representative from The

    London School of Economics and Political Science

    (LSE). This annual visit allows students to meet,

    speak and understand the requirements needed to

    enter this top-ranked UK university.

    It was a Canadian affair at Taylors College in the

    month of January. Students had the chance to meet,

    mingle and speak to various representatives from top

    Canadian universities. A total of 37 universities were

    present at both Taylors College Subang Jaya and Sri

    Hartamas campus.

    Students were given the privilege to get hold

    of information first-hand at the Canadian Fair
