HONG KONG

Located in the Kowloon section of Hong Kong, CityU is a rapidly growing institution with 20,000 students and more than 3,000 faculty and staff spanning the fields of business, creative media, data science, energy and environment, engineering, law, liberal arts and social sciences, science, and veterinary medicine and life sciences. The CityU campus offers state-of-the-art facilities and is easily accessible by mass transit.

NEW YORK

Located in the Morningside Heights neighborhood on Manhattan’s Upper West Side, the Columbia University campus is designed to be an urban academic village that offers students the opportunity to dedicate themselves to an academic life in the heart of New York City. More than 26,000 students are enrolled at Columbia University and enjoy close, collegial interaction with faculty members who are widely recognized as leading scholars in their disciplines. The student-to-faculty ratio is six to one and most courses meet in small, seminar- style classes. The Columbia undergraduate degree combines the breadth of the Core Curriculum and the rigor of one of seven majors within the social and natural sciences approved for Joint Degree Program students.

The Joint Bachelor’s Degree Program between City University of Hong Kong (CityU) and Columbia University offers students an international undergraduate educational experience—a program spanning two continents, in cosmopolitan cities that allow students to engage directly with the world around them. The program draws upon elements both traditional and innovative, combining the academic rigor of two world-renowned universities with an attention to the roles that social and cultural traditions play in a student’s intellectual formation.

By offering two distinct learning environments, the Joint Bachelor’s Degree Program seeks to present a variety of experiences that allow students to challenge themselves and develop a richly-textured understanding of an increasingly globalized world. Students will complete the undergraduate curricula of both City University of Hong Kong and Columbia University, alongside a uniquely diverse group of fellow students.
