Market Stats Some £5.6 billion worth of online orders will be fulfilled through collection in

2014, up 42% year on year; we estimate (incl. VAT). This is equivalent to 15% of all online retail sales of physical products, or

1.6% of all retail sales in 2014. In 2014, we expect 17% of online non-grocery purchases to be collected,

versus just 5% of online grocery purchases. We forecast the value of online sales fulfilled through collection to rise by a

third to around £7.4 billion in 2015, equivalent to 17% of all online purchases. By volume, we expect around 140 million online orders to be collected in

2014. Participation in click-and-collect is highest in electrical/electronic goods (53%

of online shoppers used click-and-collect in the last year) and then clothing and footwear (34% of online shoppers used).

Fully 85% of sales made for collection in 2013 were picked up from retailers’ own stores, we estimate. Collection from third-party retailers and from lockers accounted for the remaining 15%.

The share taken by third-party collection points will be bolstered by new collection services such as eBay via Argos and Doddle collection points at railway stations together with a planned expansion of the Collect+ network.

Collect.Me Collection Process

1. Sign upSimply register for your Collect.Me account and go shopping online.

2. ShopWhen you order something from a retailer’s site, choose ‘alternative delivery address’ at the checkout. Pop your Collect.Me Username in the first line of the address. Fill in the delivery address of the Collect.Me Pick-up Locations that suits you best.

3. CollectAs soon as your parcel arrives, we’ll send you an email. Come along with proof of identity*, and collect your parcel. We’ll look after your parcel for five working days; after that, we’ll have to return it to the retailer.

Collect.Me Send Process

1. Bring us your parcelsBring your parcel along to a Collect.Me Pick-up Shop. Don’t worry if you haven’t had a chance to pack it properly. We have a special packing area and we sell packaging materials too.

2. Talk to one of our team about how you want to send itA Collect.Me rep will price it for you depending on its size, weight and how you would like it delivered. 

3. We’ll do the restYou’ll be given a receipt with a tracking reference, so you can check on your package’s progress.
