PIERRE CARDINLegendary French designer, fashion designer and innovator Pierre Cardin. As a graduated architect he started his career of fashion designer after the Second World War under the guidance of a renowned master in the field, Mr Christian Dior.

In 1950 he sets up his own fashion saloon and in 1953 he becomes a member of the prestigious French association Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture. In 1959 he starts a revolution in the field by creating a first collection in history directly produced for the sale and wearing “prêt-à-porter”. In this way he brings high fashion to the general public.Besides cloths and accessories Cardin designs e.g. furniture, interiors, objects of applied arts, he has also worked for automobile and aircraft industry and in other areas.

Since 1991 Pierre Cardin has held the position of honorary ambassador of UNESCO and since 2009 he has been a good will envoy of the FAO of the United Nations.

Pierre Cardin has received a number of awards and decorations of high degree from institutions all over the world. Since 1977 he has several times been given „Dé d‘ Or“ (golden thimble), the highest honour of French haute culture. Cardin was the first fashion designer in history to win, in 1992, a chair in the French Academy of Fine Arts (Académie des Beaux-Arts).

The collection of original Pierre Cardin products has been carefully produced from selected materials and created with the emphasis on detail and attractive design.

History shows that Pierre Cardin is not only a fashion trademark, he is also a symbol of timelessness.
