collaboration vs. autonomy
DESCRIPTION
Post secondary institutions are highly autonomous. Attempts to create services that connect and network educators together across institutions run up against established beliefs that the needs of educators can be met within the institution and do not require collaboration. Collaboration is often viewed as a loss of autonomy and as sharing institutional or faculty proprietary knowledge with a competitor. This presentation is part of a panel discussion exploring how to mitigate the tensions between autonomy and collaboration when building collaborative system services for educators.TRANSCRIPT
