The following slides explain the procedures to follow in the event of an incident, emergency or an evacuation.

Immediately report any near-miss, unsafe condition, accident or incident that you become aware of to a COLL staff member.

Always follow safety signage Always walk and never run Hold on to handrails in stairwells Do not use the lifts during an evacuation Only take essentials with you that are close to hand Leave drinks and food behind Do not read or text message while walking Use correct manual handling techniques If in any doubt, ask a COLL staff member.

The fire alarms and extinguishers are located on the wall in the hallway next to the stairwell exit.Only use extinguishers if there is no personal risk.If you discover a fire, activate the fire alarm by (breaking the glass) this will activate the alarms throughout the building then warn others in the area.

A COLL staff member should be available to assist you.Follow all fire exit signs and exit via the stairwell.Obey the instructions of staff or WardensAssemble on the footpath on the opposite side of the street in front of the Harbour City Centre on the corner of Brandon Street & Lambton Quay.Take care crossing the road.

Remain in the building. It is 100% earthquake compliant.Move away from windows and any equipment or furniture which may be dangerous if it falls over.

Take shelter under any solid tables or desks.Keep calm and reassure others.Emergency provisions can be found in the Board Room.If an evacuation order is given, follow the instructions of the Floor Warden, who will be wearing a yellow vest.

Report the item to a COLL staff member immediately who will call “111”.Under no circumstances should anyone move, touch or approach any suspicious objects or anything attached to them.A COLL staff member will supervise the scene in the vicinity of the device until the experts arrive.

The person receiving the bomb threat call shall use the Bomb Threat Checklist to obtain as much information as possible from the caller.

Remain calm and attentive.The Bomb Threat Checklist is located beside the Visitor Information pamphlets.Report the threat to a COLL staff member immediately who will call “111”.
