I Served my apprenticeship in Electronics, going onto specialize in Avionics, Radar at Raf Cosford, moving to Raf Leuchars to work as a Electronic Technician servicing/fault finding Phantom/Tornado Radar aircraft systems. The skills/attributes which I gained, I have applied throughout my career., With all these skills I have worked within manufacturing growing with companies from £1million turnover to approx. £64million. I have the knowledge and experience of implementing ISO quality standards into a manufacturing site. Manage all aspects of new product development within the manufacturing plant from initial prototype build to final release for manufacturing .Generating all procedures/work instructions to enable all personnel to carry out the job from initial build to final test, working to the required to ISO9001/2000 standard.

Proactively pursue design changes to improve the manufacturing process and quality of product.

Quality control and supervision of all departments in accordance with ISO 9001/2000 standards.

Chairing daily meetings to ensure customers orders/forecast are met and in sync with material suppliers.

Utilise my technical skills in fault finding to component level on all mechanical/electronic equipment within the manufacturing plant.

Writing test programs on the Teradyne Automatic in circuit tester to enable test technicians to carry out in circuit testing of printed circuit boards.

Implementing/Writing of all test work instructions enabling all engineers to carry out full testing of Digico mixing desks

Fault finding to component level on various analogue/digital circuitries, using various pieces of test equipment

Maintenance and fault finding of Universal insertion machinery involving fault finding to component level , ranging from ac/dc motors/ pneumatics/solenoids etc.

Avionics Technician, RAF Cosford/Leuchars. Aug 1983 – May 1989Rank-Corporal

Apprenticeship in Electronics specialising in Avionics/Radar. Upon completion of training, posted to Raf Leuchars to work as a Junior Technician working in Aircraft Servicing Flight, carrying out the servicing/maintenance/fault finding of the aircraft radar system, on Phantom and Tornado aircraft. This involved all electronic and mechcanical fault finding on the aircraft radar system.

After 3 years at Raf Leuchars, I was promoted from junior technician to Corporal, responsible for junior technicians.
