What is code.soundsoftware.ac.uk?» A software and project repository for audio and
music researchers who need to build software during their work
» A collaborative platform for researchers from different institutions who need to work together
» A place to find software that other researchers have previously published
» A place to find software that we in the soundsoftware.ac.uk project are maintaining for the community

What's in it?
Source code revision control using Mercurial– We are working on documentation, tutorial material,
and tools to assist with this– We can provide practical assistance, e.g. importing
projectsBug and feature trackersWikis suitable for ad-hoc documentationFile uploads and sharing
We are still developing and filling out the service; we aim to make it as helpful as possible for researchers like us

Why not use … ?Why not use SourceForge, Google Code, etc?
– We will be providing facilities that suit the domain, e.g. associating publications and institutions with software and making it easier to find things
– We can host private projects for select groups of researchers
Why not use facilities for version control etc provided by your own institution?– We encourage you to do so, and can help with this
too!– But not everyone has access to these facilities– Our service may be convenient for collaborative work
