Weathering the storms of 2018 COALITION EDITION With two significant snow events in January, two hurricanes in the fall, and an ice storm in December, the Sandhills certainly experienced an eventful 2018! Unfortunately these types of events negatively impact many in our community. Rain, snow, ice, and extreme weather often result in lost wages for those working in hospitality, golf, landscaping, and other industries. In addition to those experiencing lost wages, some Moore County families suffered devastating losses during Hurricanes Florence and Michael. Although these storms are in the past for most of us, recovery for those significantly impacted may take years. Fortunately Moore County is a generous community, especially when disaster strikes. Your support allows the Coalition to continue providing food, clothing, and financial assistance to struggling families. Thanks to our partnership with the United Way and donations to UW Helps, the Coalition is also administering disaster recovery assistance to those impacted by Hurricane Florence. Our wonderful volunteers remain committed to our mission and those we serve. We are grateful for those who give their time to make the Coalition possible. If you have time to give, I hope you will consider joining us in the new year! Whether donating, volunteering, or shopping, thank you for supporting the Coalition! During 2018 you helped us provide food to 6,327 and clothing to 4,684 residents. We prevented eviction of 134 families and maintained utility services in 867 homes. Transportation, job counseling, and employment expense assistance were provided to hundreds more. We look forward to a successful 2019, once again doing MOORE TOGETHER! Weathering the storms of 2018

COALITION EDITION

With two significant snow events in January, two hurricanes in the fall, and an ice storm in December, the Sandhills certainly experienced an eventful 2018! Unfortunately these types of events negatively impact many in our community. Rain, snow, ice, and extreme weather often result in lost wages for those working in hospitality, golf, landscaping, and other industries.

In addition to those experiencing lost wages, some Moore County families suffered devastating losses during

Hurricanes Florence and Michael.
