CMP News Birthday/ New Baby Book Club!
Look for a book in your child’s folder the week of his/her birthday or if your family has recently had a
new baby.
Carmel Mountain Preschool’s mission is to provide a loving, supportive,
educational environment where children participate in programs that promote individual growth and a lifelong love of learning.
Children need models more than they need
critics.
~Joseph Joubert

Annual Information Update
CMP requires an annual update of essen-tial CMP forms. Forms were sent home the end of July and must be completed and returned to the office no later than
Friday, August 9th.
CMP will be closed Monday,
September 2nd for Labor Day.
Have a wonderful and safe weekend! SUNSCREEN
Please be sure to apply sunscreen each morning. We will then reapply before
afternoon playground time. If you forget to apply at home and opt to
apply sunscreen here at CMP please use caution when applying the aero-sol sunscreen—overspray gets on the tile floor and creates a slipping haz-ard. Thanks for your cooperation!
CLEAR YOUR CHILD’S CUBBY We ask that you clear your child’s cubby by Thursday afternoon, August 15th in preparation for the move to their new classroom on Monday, August 19th.
Please be sure to restock extra clothing for appropriate sizes and update items.

The administration and teachers at Carmel Mountain Preschool are thrilled to be a part of your child’s early childhood education. We want you to feel free to contact us with any concerns or questions.
Communication with Parents Communication between parents, teachers, administration, and students is essential for effective educational develop-ment. In your child’s class you will find a sheet on the bulle-tin board called, “Memo to Parents”, outlining the day’s ac-tivities. Additionally there is a weekly lesson plan posted that outlines the early literacy unit, associated stories, songs, poems, and letters of the week.
Emergency Kits Please collect your child’s emergency kit from his or her current classroom on the last day of summer school (August 15th). Update and return the emer-gency kit to your child’s new classroom on the first
day of the fall session (August 19th).
CMP is Proud to Partner with Promises 2 Kids Join CMP and Promises 2 Kids (founded as the Child Abuse Prevention Foundation) for the 12th annual Back to School Drive. Donations of back-packs, flash drives, school supplies, and gift card ensure that foster kids have the supplies they need when they return to school in the fall. There will be collection boxes set up in the main lobby for donations. Donations will be collected through August 29th.
Thank you in advance for your support!
Drop Off and Pick Up Procedures
Be sure to sign your child into their classroom when you drop off; it is required by state law. Quick clear goodbyes are best;
prolonged goodbyes generally cause additional anxiety for your child. (Creating a consistent goodbye routine is helpful; and be assured that if your child is upset when you depart, the teacher will be there to provide comfort.) Be sure your child’s teacher
knows when you are leaving. Children may not run to the playground unescorted.
When picking up, if the teacher does not recognize you, she will send you to the office to get a, “Parent Pass.” Please have a picture ID with you during the first few weeks of school. Be sure to sign out and let the teacher know you are picking up
your child.
Parking Lot Safety Please be sure to hold your child’s hand in the parking lot. Cars are pulling in at all times of the day, and it is difficult to see children as you pull up the hill into the lot. Please do not allow your children to play in the parking lot at any time.
Always use extra caution to keep all our children safe!
